Not sure the last time it hailed in Alameda but it sure came down today!!

We had a loud and crazy storm roll through right around 6:30.

KCBS was reporting that CHP was trying to keep motorists from going up to Redwood Road, as there was a lot of slush on the roadway.

Oh my, that's huge for bay area hail!

When I lived in TX, a couple of times we got hail big enough to destroy cars--leave them looking like the horizontal surfaces had been worked over with a ball-peen hammer.

I was backing my bike out of it's covered parking when the hail started. I parked it and went inside. Then the hail started coming down hard, but I didn't go out and measure.

880 bad a pretty fair accumulation this am, there were a nice piles right between the lanes
