honda 50 cub 1c-100 (
Just became the proud owner of a 1965 honda 50 (cub) found in a barn in AZ . Can anyone direct me to a club and website dedicated to these motorbikes . thanks Nick

Is your bike a C-110? that was my first bike a 1963 model. i'd really like to pickup another one of them one day.

Cubs are starting to be done up these days. I follow a lot of foreign custom mini scenes and Japan has been turning out some pretty sweet ones. I have a feeling it will catch on pretty quick here and in parts of Europe.

As far as state side I haven't seen a really good custom cub forum. The motors are very similar to whats in the Monkeys actually almost all the same tuning components are also made for most of the cub motors.

As for the post about Symba all i have to say is i wish it was Honda that was selling them and not another company.

Here are some pics of some of the customs ive been seeing.

Well Honda notice the thread.. and asked me to pass this along to you.

So here it is :teeth

:smoking

In light of the inquiries that have been submitted to American Honda Motor

Co., Inc. regarding the Symba scooter, which is being marketed by SYM-USA,

we would like to clarify a number of items.

While the SYM Symba resembles the Honda Cub motorcycle sold by Honda in

other parts of the world, the Symba is not a Honda and there is no

connection between this machine and American Honda. The SYM Symba is not

manufactured, designed, or produced by Honda. Further, the Symba has no

warranty from American Honda and no warranty service will be available from

American Honda dealerships.

It is our hope that this information clarifies the position of American

Honda Motor Co., Inc. relative to this product.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is the sole distributor of Honda

motorcycles, scooters, ATVs and personal watercraft in the U.S. American

Honda’s Motorcycle Division conducts the sales, marketing, and operational

activities for these products through authorized Honda dealers. For more

information on Honda products, go to www.powersports.honda.com.

Wonder if they made the cub for honda? :confused

" Sym, a former Honda subsidiary based in Taiwan "

:wow sweet...i wouldnt mind being a Cub owner....

but sucks that it not a Honda....i wonder how much it costs....

The new Honda cubs sold in Japan are fuel injected. One of the best fuel efficient small displacement motorcycles in the world at this point.

Maybe Honda needs to stop worrying about what their competition is doing and start bringing some of these models back to the USA.

Are you listening American Honda?

With Gas prices going up, and scooters becoming more popular, they need to bring over more small displacement motorcycles to the US market like the Fuel injected Ape 50, the Ape 100D, the XR100 motard, Monkey, Cub and others.

And we get the Ruckus? Ugh...

Again, are you listening American Honda???

As usual, Z hits the nail right on the head.

Why do we have to jump through hoops to try and register vintage hondas still? The tooling still exists, Honda! BUILD THE BIKES AGAIN -- and no, I'm not talking about $5500 for a Dream 50.

People would kill to have the new EFI Monkey here stateside. The XR100 motard would sell like crazy if people could buy a plated version, and it would also be huge in mini racing. The CRF100F is $2699 MSRP. Pretty sure a street legal CRF100 Supermoto would sell for $2999.

I'd bring the Monkey in Last. People would not flock to dealers to spend $3000+ on a Fuelie Monkey. After your hardcore enthusiasts are gone after the first 500-1000 (on a special order basis), the bikes would sit and sit.

However, the fuelie cub or Supercub would fair much better considering it's comfortable for an adult to ride, as would the Ape 50-100 XR50-100 Motards. The cub would have crossover to the scooter market and get all the millions of people who had cubs in their youth.

I'm not a fan of the Ape50 as it's underpowered. If Honda moves to the Ape 100D fuelie, I'm game in a heartbeat.

The logical solution would be to have all of these bikes available on a special order only type basis as a pilot to gauge demand in the first couple of years. These will easily pass EPA emissions standards since they come with cats from the factory.

It's all moot as Honda won't take chances on the street legal machines. If the Dream50R would have been brought in as the 1997 JDM dream50 and would have been street legal, it would have been 1000X more successful. We just jet stuck with the track bikes that will never sell well.

That's my take.

Special order would be the way to go. I'd put a deposit down on an Ape100 the day I heard they would be available.

To me it's a no brainer. Spend $2500 on a Honda Metropolitan, or buy one of these:

And add another $1500 to the price of a Metro as the Ape 100D would be close to $4K from a US Dealer.

Honda would have to change the turn signals, speedo and front and rear lighting and it would be good to go.
