Not likely. Call the local DMV and see what the qualifications are for such a transfer.

Typically these bikes came in by way for Miltary service people and the Gov't did them a favor and regististerd the Int'l bikes through special channels.

I believe once they are in a specific State, transfering from one State to another may be difficult, if possible at all. Also worth noting is those bikes don't have the correct amout of vin numbers which creates a problem all of it's own.

Correction.. the RVF400 has the correct 11 digit vin. It is also listed under NHTSA as a eligible vehicle for importation to the US. So you should be able to register it, but may take some patience and time with DMV and DOT. I know of at least 1 barfer that had no trouble registering one. Should be alot easier than a 2stroke.

In California vehicles are required 17 digits to have a legit vin number (at least that's what I was told in the Academy) and ever vehicle I've run to date has had 17 digits. My RVF only has 11 digits (first time I've seen a vehicle with 11 digits). But once registered, it's grandfathered for life.

Calling the DMV would clarify any questions in connection to having a gray market bike registered here Cali that came from another State.

They wont have to reg it, most likely. Many times, I am pretty sure, when a vehicle is used in a movie and it was not on lease from a specialty company, they will sell it with a salvaged title to limit liability when the vehicle is re-sold.

If it was sold to a production company for a specific movie the bike may be destined for abuse or destruction if they choose not to sell it.....if it was sold to a leasing company you may see it many, many times....lets hope for the latter with that beauty.
