gloves stuffed into helmet isn't good for longevity
I have a 40 year old pair of Bates touring gloves that say you are wrong. As long as your helmet and gloves are dry, it's fine.

I suppose if you let the gloves and helmet dry out all the way before you do so, it'd work.I have a 40 year old pair of Bates touring gloves that say you are wrong. As long as your helmet and gloves are dry, it's fine.
I'm amazed that your gloves last that long. I have trouble getting gloves to last more than a couple years, even excellent gloves like Helimots.

Ants have NO chance against this special sauce. But I will admit to finding spiders in gloves, helmets, and other places, especially when they are put away properly; If I just hang my gear like on a post (see above) they tend to ignore it. Spiders love garages, like my 90 year old garage, where several 1000 generations have evolved to be specialized for my garage.

I thought I was the only one that did it this way. I'll usually leave one helmet and one set of gloves on the bike, helmet on mirror and gloves near where the key goes. Often a jacket is laid across there too. Other helmets and gloves go on whatever shelves have room for them. Other jackets laid on boxes in the garage or occasionally on a hanger in my coat closet. I used to keep all of my boots on a shelf, but they've sort of migrated to the floor near the air pump.I store it randomly in the garage, downstairs closet, upstairs closet, dependent on the season
