Rode Page Mill today and cages were coming across the line at the top of the hill where it's narrow, just assume that you've only got the right half, but the point made about the gravel toward the edge is a good one. Safety necessitates riding well below you're normal fun pace. It sucks, but just save that for the more open twisties. And even then I had a big wake-up on a leftie last weekend when an SUV was giving a bicycle some room and taking it out of my lane. Just be smooth at the bars, anticipate the worst, and work with what you've got. Sometimes it might be the last couple of inches of pavement and that's when you have to control where you're looking.
