look at your newsgroup server settings, for SBC dsl, I don't know but I'm sure the sbc website has details.

As for what to do after you find your server settings... get a program called newsbin (windows I'm guessing).
http://www.newsbin.com/

Then you can goto groups like alt.binaries.music or alt.binaries.music.mp3 etc...

Just look at which of those have larger number of posts. then you just get all the headers in that newsgroup, and click and download ;).

girish.... Is your account still under AT&T? My AT&T account got screwed up, so they had to re-sign me up under the comcast name.. i.e. my e-mail went from @attbi.com to @comcast.net

At that point, by newsgroups went from unlimited to 1GB/month...

No I use netnews.comcast.net as my news server, no auth needed. :teeth

Don't use it too much, they might figure it out! :p :shhh

Actually I never converted from attbi->comcast (or rather I don't remember my username or password.. haha, I just use it for cablemodem services, get my email from somewhere else)
 
man u 2 never heard of hypothetical, huh?....dont give me the benefit of the doubt but jump to the conclusion...so fuck off =)
 
I agree with Thump and feel some sympathy for Silver5656. Comcast, ATTBI, they absolutely suck. Them a**whipes jacked my billing up and three times tried to get me to pay $125 for modems I returned (moved once and they set up a new account with a new modem and didn't properly record that the tech took the old modem - other time was I shut off my damn account because of their stupid billing errors and got new service deal).

If you don't keep your billing in check monthly and keep all your paperwork - ATTBI, now Comcast, will screw you over!!
 
comcast is in my opinion the worst cable/isp that i've had. my bills have been constantly wrong and they've no concept of customer service. if i had any other choice in my area, i would cancel this second. but until that day, i'm stuck with them. :(
 
ComCast sucks really bad -- City of Modesto has been trying to figure out how to make them keep their bigarsed promises to improve reliability and NOT increase bills - both of which they have reneged(sp) on...
I dropped ComCast and got Dish... fortunately I already had DSL with SBC..
 
Saw a rep[ort on the news yesterday... in Roseville - ComCast has torn up lots of peoples yards installing new services -- the PR person says Comcast is committed to repairing the damage ASAP.... but then again...says the repairs to yards may not occurr for at least 2-3 weeks:mad
