I just placed a deposit on a Chinese Unicorn!

Looks great, One thing that jumps out at me is the Wide rim and short sidewall on that rear, keep that thing aired up!

I know the hardcore off-road KTM 890r guys complain about the stock wheels being too wide so they switch to normal with dirt bike style rims so they can run narrower knobby tires with tall side walls for more traction and better rim protection.
Definitely not hard core :laughing new tires will for sure have more meat.

And here I am considering a 15 tooth front
Crash bars and high fender installed now working on luggage system. Next will be bark busters then attempt to get 600 miles on this baby in the next 3 weeks.

Where is the chain guide?
I have a Beta 430 for that kind of terrain. No chain guard and no extreme bash plate. Crash guards or for peace of mind when my little 5’ 1” in boots goes slipplY sliding on some greasy ass road.

It now has 63 miles. The bike is an absolute delight. That bulky front end, ala GS Adventure, is intimidating at first but quickly forgotten. This is a lovely machine with an incredibly pleasing exhaust note. It’s not totally dialed in yet but tomorrow I head north with a restriction on RPMs of 4000.
End of today’s ride in West Marin.

Mine was bone stock and while I don't think we aired down the tires much for dirt, I bottomed put the suspension on a few rocks / pot holes and didn't manage to dent anything

Yeah I heard it's geared too low it's just screaming on the freeway all the time. Upping the front sprocket should do the trick.

My experience so far doesn’t merit a switch. Since i’m pretty much a 50/50!wrt to paved and unpaved it will stay stock.
1st gear is more of a granny gear and I short shift up to 4 then things get taller.

As an owner of a TW, they have a granny, I love wide ratio gearboxes.
I only rode it for 12 miles, up past Jerome.
I was thinking about gearing it lower.
What I didn't do was ride it on the freeway, no idea about buzzy, or performance.

Waiting for the post Hawthorne Rally bike update. What you like, what you don't how it went.
