I miss Helimot

Best gear ever, and gloves. I can't count how many times Helmut's gear saved my ass (literally) and hands. Never had one problem with his gear through over 40 times on the ground or so.

The best suit I ever had; I would still be wearing it if I could make it work with an airbag.

I emailed him about a year ago, and think I got the last pair of his gauntlet gloves. Probably, my third pair.

Was always fun to ride down and visit the shop.

My low cuff summer gloves are still going strong. Well vented so only use in the heat. These are the only glove that fit my custom by table saw fingers. I went in and he traced my had and the fit is perfect.
He did the same for me in the early years a couple times. The last time when he was in Fremont nope. He could no longer do that. Had to deal with a little extra finger length.

I did just replace the last pair with Dainese and the extra finger length is annoying as F.

Table saw fingers... :laughing

well hawt diggity, i went out and bought some deer scraps from tandy leather. i have minor experience making some leather knife sheaths so patched up the holes in my gloves!

practically good as new sans the color.

total cost: $5 and a chunk of time saddle stitching this thing.

I saw him a couple summers ago. He was still making gloves himself. His storage facility was full of boots too. We went for a short ride. He is the coolest dude.
