I took out a dive bomber.

Well... I am a fan and always want to be that dude that stands his ground and you did! :applause

Necessary... no but sure sends a lesson to dive bombers!!

I think you should have just let him in. Can't we all just get along?

I usually do. It happens to me a lot; unless of course, I see it coming. If it's any consolation, I do kinda regret it.

I once drove through Paris. It was interesting because there wasn't a whole lot of lane discipline going on - meaning nobody paid any attention to whether or not they stayed in their lanes. Once I got to the Arc de Triomphe I figured it out: Nobody wants to wreck their own car. So you just go for the opening and other drivers get out of the way.

While walking through Marseille, I had another revelation. If it's not your car, who gives a shit? My wife and I were strolling along and watched a delivery driver skid along some white marks and then run into a bollard at a pedestrian crossing. He then drove off as if nothing had happened. Good thing there weren't any pedestrians nearby.

I think the thing that dive bombers count on is that you're gonna let them in because you don't wanna hassle with getting in a wreck. Many years ago, I was riding with an old hippie in an International flatbed truck. The windshield had a little crank that allowed it to be opened. It was hinged at the top. I remember riding with him in Los Gatos and being at a signalled intersection where opposing traffic had backed up and was blocking the way. When our light turned green he opened the window, put the truck into granny gear, got the truck moving, and then told whoever was in the way to move it. They did.

It's nice having a big-ass beater that you don't really care about.

I looked up “dive bombing” on Google and thought this was a butt stuff thread.

The term is "barging" in sail boat racing.
I did have something like a 73 dodge wagon, a $200. beater to drive while I waited for my Subaru to arrive.
Doing some sailboard shopping downtown Berkley, I stuck that front end into traffic, all fenders dented,
University Ave, 1: pm, stop & go, everybody gave me room, all those nice cars, didn't challenge.

On a Friday evening I was on 280 Northbound into the city, just before it splits 101 or 280. An absolute IDIOT in the fast lane decides to dive bomb the 280 exit, somehow he makes the exit but clips an SUV on his way over. The SUV lost control hit one of those giant traffic sign/generator thingys in the middle shoulder and flips like a fucking Michael Bay movie. Craziest shit I've ever seen. I was not driving, but traffic slowed and we called 911, saw several people pulling over in the back so we went on our way, but I don't think the Dive Bomber even bothered to stop. I have ZERO sympathy for those people. Due to that event I'm always extra careful around splits like that and I swear to god I see several dive bombers a week, makes me wish I had a James Bond car :ROFLMAO:
