I picked up a custom suit at Tiger Angel in Melbourne. Not sure if they are still around, but it sure was fun getting it. 16 years later, it’s a bit snug, but I’m still using it! :thumbup

Thanks Bill!

So today's plan is to collect my delayed luggage, get a quick lesson in riding on the left, then catch a ferry to the south island. I'll be staying in Blenheim this evening and riding to hanmer springs tomorrow. You can expect more photos. :teeth

Wellington is a lovely city. I visited the beehive, which is their Parliament building.

And... I got my gear :banana

My regular clothes? :dunno

On the ferry to Picton now. Rode on the correct side today. :laughing

Edit: just heard an advert on TV for "ride forever" training. Fuck yeah? There's a ton of other motos on the boat. Didja know Dave Moss is brought here annually by the NZ government to provide his services? The government considers it a way of making their riders safer.

Hell yeah!! Live the dream.

OMG. Did a short jaunt from Picton to linkwater on Queen Charlotte drive and then back again before coming to Blenheim. :love Queen Charlotte is so, so delicious.

I took a bee to the face, though. Ouch. :laughing my joy is undiminished. Tomorrow we're doing it again, hitting Nelson then taking the rainbow road to hanmer springs. I stopped in to buy some a bathing suit for the springs. While in "the warehouse" the fire alarm was set off. :rofl. Talk about fun.

On the ferry coming over there were dozens of bikes. I met a man from Sacramento who was here with a tour put on by the British company Beaches. They'll be here a full two weeks. I wish I'd devoted more time to NZ. Guess I'll have to come back.

I took lots of pictures today. I'll see about getting them uploaded soon.

OUCH. Been there done that. I do not ride with my shield up anymore.

Hope the swelling goes down quickly.

Ouch! Hope that heals-up quickly.

This is going on my bucket list! (New Zealand, not a bee to the eye :nchantr)

Today was fuckin' epic. About 100 km of gravel roads of easy to medium difficulty getting from St Arnaud to rainbow to the molesworth. Countless water crossings on the transalp. Made it safely to Hanmer Springs where I got to meet a new internet friend. :ride

I took a boatload of pics. I left the laptop in Blenheim for now. I return there in about a week and you can expect a photo dump.
