I'm down unda, bitches.

Oh wow! Sounds like an amazing trip!

Yup. 15 more days until I come back to the USA. Then straight to DV noobs. :ride

Woot!!! Awesome trip is awesome!!! So jealous!!!

This is @MrKiwi on ADVRIder. AKA, Dave, father of Red. He's giving us the BARF salute.

This bloke is Pete aka @KiwiPewe on ADVRider, dancer, gentleman, sex-god (allegedly - see gentleman comment) and overall good cunt!

I didn't snap a picture of Mark, who goes by Lili von Shtupp on ADV. I was too busy gazing at his dreamy visage. But Pete snapped a picture that I may share with you later. :laughing

After a good night's sleep at my friend Pete's place we set off to ride the Rainbow road. It is a privately owned area that runs from St. Arnaud to Hanmer Springs, We could slab to St. Arnaud, where we'd fill up and then hit the Rainbow. Or we could go an re-do Queen Charlotte Drive. No brainer. MAP LINK. Zoom in on the section from Picton to Linkwater and the decision will make sense.

Here's Pete on Queen Charlotte.

Here's a pretty bay, not sure of the name. It is east of Linkwater. I know that much.

Linkwater

More of this awful place. I can't help it, I took over 1000 photos in a week of this island. It's gorgeous.

Here is the town of Havelock, where we'd stop for coffee and a meat pie. A meat pie is what we'd call a pot pie. There are many varieties and you eat them with your hands.

Sounds like some interesting characters.

Pete was hilarious, a real bloke's bloke. He's from Germany but sounds like a Kiwi. He is extremely silly and was a real delight as a tour guide. He also RIPS on his KTM 950.

Thanks for carrying us all along! Looks like an amazig trip so far.

Pie consumed, coffee down the gullet and we're off to St. Arnaud. The next section was pretty but I didn't grab the camera quite as much. We were focused on covering miles. WE gassed up and drank yet another coffee in St. Arnaud, then off to the Rainbow Road. It had been closed due to very dry conditions but I got extremely lucky and it reopened the very day we were to ride it. :banana

It starts out as a paved road without markings. It's a bit goaty but nice.

Here you can see the nearby mountains and the tall grass. Note how brown it is.

Then through some trees.

Some fall colors.

This bridge is after two gravel hairpin turns. :ride

The tollbooth for the Rainbow station. $20 NZD per motorbike. The boothkeeper is a local who takes a two week stint accepting money. They sell honey and some honey soap here.

Quite frankly I am surprised we were allowed to enter. Look at this. Full on goobers.

And, here are a bunch of pictures of the Rainbow. So, so gorgeous.

Here I am on the Rainbow giving my buddy Pete the BARF salute. It's a gravel road and the Kiwis lay the gravel down thick in some spots. Sometimes it is a bit like riding in sand.

And here is my face after the bee:

And bikes on a boat. :love

Bikes on a boat

Sounds like a good song title. You should write some lyrics in your down time. :teeth

I'm on a boat. I can float. Always pop a wheelie when you're crossing a big moat.

:laughing

That's a good start. There might be something here.

If you get famous off that, I want my finders/inspiration fee.
