Yeah, I know that climate change is a Chinese plot, but I've been accused of being a Chinese plot, so naturally I gravitate towards this.

The idea of low/no maintenance, and being able to recharge at work makes this look pretty appealing. My plan is to demo the FXS. Who has tried one?

Have any of you demo'd the Brammo/Victory?

good luck, man. I'm taking the long way there by starting with an electric bicycle. if you do decide to buy, don't wait bc the federal rebate is ending soon, the last time i'd checked....

Let me know how you like FXS I have been eyeing it.

Will do. Thanks.

I've never seen you and China in a room together... hmmm.

If it's for commuting, and you can recharge at work - there's a lot to like about that setup. Since we've gone e-car, it really feels like we can never go back to not having an electric vehicle. So quiet and torquey, low-maintenance as you note, and nice to just plug it in at night and be done with it.

I have ridden the Brammo and the Zero FX (2015). The FX was A LOT more fun and felt more nimble and capable. The Brammo is a better bike for freeway droning, but that's not what e-bikes are about (for me, at least). The Zero was super easy to ride, could handle mild offroad use (i.e. jeep trails, double track, etc), and was just an absolute hoot. I'm really curious to see what you have to say after you demo one.

So far my Zero FXS has been awesome!

The handling is oddly good. Like not just good for an electric bike but its once of the nicer, more confidence inspiring bikes ever ridden. It really feels planted when you go diving into corners. The power delivers is really torque heavy and smooth a combo if never really felt before, but when you twist the throttle it feels like God is summoning you forward.

It's really nice to know I can just plug it in when I get home and ill be topped off for tomorrow. No more "Aw, fuck I forgot to get gas" in the morning when I'm late to work.

No complaints so far. Having an app for your bike is kinda cool. Can tune it and do other stuff.

Very cool, Aaron. Thanks for the real world experience. :thumbup

You may want to wait until after the election. Why get a new bike if the world will be ending soon.

Exactly! I have photovoltiac solar panels and an electric motorcycle. I am golden, eh?

Good point. The road to heaven is steep. You'll need more torque, more range hence a bigger battery. The road to hell is all downhill. You might get by with their smallest battery, use regenerative braking and still go 10 times as far. :thumbup

I've heard that people that ride electric bikes make motorcycle noises in their helmet.

Wrong answer. The right answer in that scenario is to finance the bike. :banana

I have playing cards and clothes pins, and I know how to use them. :x

I haven't. Yet.....

The noise it makes is really neat. I feel like I'm riding a space ship.

These Oset trials bikes are a really neat in-between bicycle and motorcycle. Not really a commuting bike, but nice to know about if you are thinking of going electric. I think they are considered electric bicycles, but not sure about that...

If I were going to get an electric trials bike, it would be the Electric Motion. If I could choose among the non-plated e-bikes, I would take the Alta. The Zero is a different animal entirely, and is more of a street-oriented dualsport.

I rode the supermoto styled version they had at their open house last year. It was a slow, supervised ride but I still liked it a lot.
A real demo ride would be great

I rode the FXS on one of their spirited demo rides and I loved it. The group I was with had some idiots, though so over the day both were crashed. I did my part and rode it like I stole it, but kept it on both wheels on on the pavement.

I'd buy one if I had garage space. Don't expect range, but if you live near a fun place to hoon it, it's worth it.

I have a friend (FJR rider) who just ended a 2-yr. or so tenure as an employee. PM me if you'd like to get the inside take.
