But now I'm guilty of the sin, envy.

Nice! We rode Penny Pines on Saturday. Conditions were nice but we spent more time clearing trails than riding. Lots of downed trees.

Thats's why I went to Indian Valley...I knew it would be bad everywhere else:teeth

The trails aren't going to clear themselves, and I generally feel pretty good about clearing the trails. Just picked up a second little chainsaw. With a chainsaw and a couple people moving the cut off pieces you can make pretty quick work of clearing a trail. Two teams would be even better. But I get it, riding is definitely more fun! :)

Right on Mike!

Glad ya got some good fun in. Keep at it Bro Ho Ho Ho :teeth

Merry Christmas

Thanks for the trail cleanup Daniel much appreciated!

We will be trying to ride and clear trails again on 1/1/22 if anyone wants to come ride in wet snow and work. LOL. Meeting at the Middle Creek Camp a 0930 and then will drive up the hill to find a place to stage. Most likely Lower Deer Valley Rd or at PP Campground. Anyone is welcome to join us.

I never rode Indian Valley but have at Stoneyford and Middle Creek. Is there a lot of single track? Where is the staging area? And do you need a plate or is it mostly all OHV?

There is some good single track but it's not marked. Easy to get stuck in a ravine or end up on private property if you don't know what your doing. There's lots of double track and awesome views. You don't need a plate but if you have one...you can ride all the way to Stonyford from there :thumbup.

Incident in Indiana Valley
The two years after the new Dam to make Indian Valley reservoir, and both prior were drought years, . the lake level had filled to reached the north end to the road. Going into winter all the water had receded. Leaving a bizarre farm valley moon scape with Cash creek running through it.
I entered the lake area after riding up and down the dams spillway, spillway bottom area held water 20" and the center had a spoon out that was 5 ft. deeper, on either side the spoon out was access to the steep spillway.

When i entered what was the lakes underwater area where all the trees were dead and bare, everything was lay bare, you could see every bare stone, pebble, dirt. I proceeded and rode the perimeter estimate three mile long by half mile wide. Then I rode the Creek and found some 20ft. cliffs, thought good fish area when lake refills. Rode around farmer dwelling and a bridge. I then went to the center valley low flat area. Flat broad and could see ahead a long way. Went trough the bikes gears, top out 70mph, standing, scanning the horizon. Suddenly what was invisible, there are furrow rows six of them.
Skid then launch the first furrow a little out of control hit the second, ..third , …fourth, …fifth , ... ***k there's a Dozer trench cut out, drop a gear WFO hit sixth furrow fly and then hit the Dozer trench other vertical side at front axel height. The bike stops with the back wheel inches past the trench edge.. and I felt My roll/fall over to the right.

Laying there beside my Suzuki my eyes closed seeing those carton like tweety birds, a more accurate description be moving stars; don't think I lost conscious just laying there not moving for a while and my thought was .when I open my eyes I'm going to see bent-back fork-tubes with the front wheel tight against the frame and engine, I was hating the thought and had seen it once before.
Still finding comfort in my resting position. I hear a Jeep in the distance racing in my direction. I thought I was alone in the Valley. I felt I need to get up and get some composure because I'm going to have company in about a minute. I Get up dust off a little, the bike at my feet, .. happily amazed the forks look straight.
I lift the bike and mount it. The handlebar crossbar is bent forward and down from hitting it with my sternum (that's why tweety birds)!
Guest arrive, a Jeep with two men and two women.

Are you ok? We heard you crash!
Yes I think I'm ok.
My jersey is torndown in front, my boot soles are torn at the heal and flop when I kick start the RM400.

Wow, I figured it would be full of water.

If you can kick it then you are at least OK. Glad you were not hurt too bad Chuck.

Damn, quite the crash! Fastest I've been was probably 30 when I went down on dirt and that was plenty uncomfortable.
