Hi everyone, and welcome in one of my new "noob" thread.

Let's say I'm in an accident where I'm not at fault and there is no one to back up my version and/or it's a hit'n run BUT my gopro filmed the full scene and show that it's the other drive/rider/ped who's at fault.

Can I use the footage to prove my point to the insurance ? Does it have any legal value in California ?

I found some infos about dashcams in cars but nothing about motorcycle.

Thank you

Camera footage will totally hold up in court. Even if you are pulled over you can use it against an office if you felt like you were not in the wrong. These are reasons why I always have a gopro running when I ride.

So far my gopro has gotten me out of one ticket and proved my innocence when I was bumped by a car.

Got hit a year ago and the guy made up some story. Luckily I got the whole inidicent on my GoPro. After talking with a lawyer, I was told to share it with the guy's insurance company. They called me back a couple days later to discuss payout terms.

If you're involved in a traffic crash caused by another motorist, it's entirely possible for them to fabricate a story that makes it your fault. Anything that you can do to cover yourself is highly advisable.

I run a Contour camera on the side of my helmet, rain or shine. :thumbup

Not yet... :laughing

Trying to figure out how to run the wiring first, then installation. :thumbup
