ok i know im reviving a classic but has anyone else found cheaper insurance.. im contemplating what i shoudl get...

yes im a noob.. so far im thinking of just liability for 156/year.. which is damn good for me.. or 268/year for liability with uninsured motorist

or.. full coverage.. @ 128/month....

dont forget i got a DUI so if anyone out there has found something decent let me know

also why i should get full coverage.. even though its gonna cost me !!!!1400!!! per year.!!!! thats alot.. i pay 214 on my truck alone..

I think you should be happy you found insurance at all. At any rate, I have a high liability package through progressive that costs me 800$ a year. I'm young though, have a couple tickets under my belt, and have an F4i with no prior motorcycle experience. If you're getting a 4000$ bike, then get liability with uninsured motorist and a thick chain and a sturdy lock. - John

get comprehensive insurance as well. you'd be amazed at how many bikes are stolen.

comprehensive insurance?? thats only if it gets stolen right?

if so ill ask the insurance people about comprehensive insurance. I hope they can add it to liability

yea comp is when u get ur bike stolen so u get some money =) i went through state farm, and i got full coverage for uhmmmm i forget but it was under 200 a year .. but my records clean. you should try them. Just simply tell them you have car iinsurance, cuz that makes a big difference (thats what my friend and i did)

how old are you guys? and where in the do you live?

cuz i've been getting quoted HARDCORE..

i live in San francisco and i'm 20.
l $185/month for liability and
$400/month for full coverage on a 1996 F3! (which is mad stupid!!)

completely clean record too, never even been pulled over!

$678 per year for me through Progressive.

2 bikes, full coverage. 1987 GSX-R750, 1999 Honda Aero.

Clean Record, married, locked garage, turned 34 today.

DaddyFatSacks: SF is probably the costliest city to insure a bike in, or tie with NY. bikes get knocked over and stolen left and right here, not to mention traffic accidents probably daily. I hope you took the msf class, most insurance co's will give you a 10% lifetime discount just for that. that clean record will also qualify you for a discount but in due time. also bike type plays a huge factor in this. get a dirt bike based motard and you'll not only have fun but laugh to the bank too. get a plastic fantastic sport bike and pay dearly no matter the cc. I have half a mind right now to cancel the insurance on my sportbikes and let them sit till I move away and just ride the honda here. it really sucks on the freeway though.

i live in Fremont... im surprised with my DUI i get a good liability rate but damn full coverage wants to tear me a new ass hole..

I just insured my 04 Ducati 998 through Statefarm, I paid around $237 for 6 months. Full coverage 30/60/15 or something. 28yr, clean record, 4 yrs riding experience. No MSF discount tho.

They are boning you for three things:

1. SF
2. 20
3. 600cc+

and probably 4. Overall small amount of road experience (cage time)

I live in Sf, but I'm 38, with a 500cc bike. I have 20 years cage time with no (current!) speeding tickets on my record.

dammit i just called the cheapest insurance company i have on my list and they dont offer comprehension insurance.. SHIZZZ
