So I was told by a buddy of mine about this forum so I spent most of the day checking it out and reading new an old threads. After reading IMO;
1. Barf old school members think its stupid to start off on a bike bigger then a 250 (which I agree, they are more forgiving)
2. Most members on here hate HD's
3. Most members on here think that all MC members are thugs, criminals or gangsters.
So with that being said I was wondering what you folks think about LE motorcycle clubs? Just this past weekend I was at a local bar in Contra Costa County and seen a bunch of patched members/ prospects and hangarounds of the Watchmen LE.
At first sight I thought there were a regular MC. They wear a 3 piece patch with their bottom rocker as California (which struck me as odd.) Their bikes that were outside looked like they came straight out of SOA, they had what I think we're hangarounds wearing support gear as well as PROSPECTS.
Now I've been to my fair share of MC events from toy runs to BBQ's and in all my interactions with all types of clubs from HD clubs, sportbike clubs, women clubs and yes even the 1%er clubs and IMO the guys from the Watchmen LE acted more like tough guys then any other clubs I've been around. Most members will say hello and introduce themselves to you, shake hands and all. These guys on the other hand acted like their shit didn't stink and stood there with their chest all puffed out.
I find it kind of odd that most LEO's even the ones on here think that MC members are criminals and they judge them on what they wear and or what the media puts in the news, gangland or the discovery channel yet they start their own MC's and call it a brotherhood. They follow most regular MC protocol, they have hangarounds, they make their members PROSPECT before they become full patched members, they wear a 3 piece patch and they claim a territory with wearing a CALIFORNIA rocker.
So how are they any different? Is it because they are also cops? If so I think that's such BS, because we all know that cops have been charged and put in prison for the same things that the media puts on all these shows about 1%ers.
Don't get me wrong I know that there are a lot of MC members that are in fact criminals and have been in and out of jail for most their lives but at least they don't play both sides of the fence. There are also a lot of law abidding citizens that earn an honest living that are MC members. Don't you think it's kind of contradicting that they pretty much hate MC's yet they act like 1%ers, they dress like 1%ers, they deck out their Harleys like 1%ers and I'd be willing to bet that most of their bylaws are the same as 1%ers.
So if they act like a duck, they walk like a duck they most be ducks right? If they were riding down the road, and yes they ride side by side like 1%ers just check out their website, the general population is going to look at them and think "There goes another biker gang" because that little LE in the MC cube they wear on their backs isn't noticeable unless you are up close.
Seems to be that they want their cake and eat it too. I mean they dress like tough guys and in person the ones I seen weren't very approachable. They want to play the part and act like 1%ers and its ok because they wear a badge for their day job? Just doesn't make sense to me!

) thinks about the cover, it's the book that really matters. Some guys in MCs are the nicest most law abiding people on the face of the planet, others are not. Does me no good in my life to stereotype any of them.

I did a lot of reading today!
