Or am I simply unable to grasp the magnificence of "baggers." :wtf

"You know what this bike needs? A lift kit, bigger body panels and smaller wheels."

Said apparently one person.

That wide front cowling with no windscreen should do a great job of providing a quiet cockpit without buffeting.

The original is more appealing, if for no other reason its a cohesive design.

The racing bagger is an abomination as they try to squeeze a race bike out of one of these baggers.

Back In The Day when they had the 883 series, those weren't far off the mark of the basic bike. It's was essentially early 80's superbike, which was "standards" with a small fairing (if that), and maybe some tweaked rearsets and better springs.

But this thing, I mean at least the Boxer Cup ran stock RS's (I loved seeing the riders turn on the keys on the grid). They may have wallowed like whales on the banking at Daytona, but at least they bikes designed to be turned and ridden somewhat aggressively.

These things are more like recliners at a tractor pull.

Yes, the 883 and Boxer Cup were fun to watch and the bikes looked good.

This thing is an abomination.

That's looks fun to ride with lots of torque, and not too uncomfortable. I like quirky bikes so the styling is fine. What I can't stand are the custom cafe racers / bobbers / trackers that are all style but no function, the equivalent of women's high heels.

Whoa whoa whoa... my high heels have PLENTY of function, Sir!!
In addition to making my legs look awesome, they have functioned on more than one occasion as a hammer!! :x

Something happened to you when you bought that Buell, Gary. :laughing

I was gonna say this racing bagger is similar in spirt to what Eric Buell did with Harley engines. :thumbup

Totally unrelated question. What does a blind guy do with so many bikes?

I could explain but a dumb guy wouldn't understand it. :twofinger

Sorry, I meant women's high heels for guys. Maybe some guys like high heels for themselves but not me. :p

If it wins on Sunday the stocker will sell on Monday.

Assuming their open.

Yeah it looks funky as hell. It is a race bike.
I get it. I think most did not read the article :laughing

Working the engineering within the constraints for the class. Fastest bagger ever?? I bet not but might be the best handling fastest. It looks like a challenger.

What an odd race class :laughing

I read the article. I know it's a race bike. It's still ugly.

A few air effects, racing wheels and tires, a big fat number, and contingency stickers can make a Chevy Cruze look like a race car.

This doesn't. It's a bad reject out of a secret lab where something went wrong.

Ya know what? It takes nothing away from my bikes for that bike to look the way it does. If anyone wants to enjoy the way that bike looks, more power to them.
