I was watching some videos on people hacking keypads and I got to thinking. Would it be possible to put a car door keypad on your bike and have it unlock the wheel lock and prime the bike to start? Once the keypad combo was entered you would then just hit the start engine button. There would be a 5 second window before you had to enter the combo again.

Thoughts?

this will go great with the anti-dew seat that the other guy is inventing

It's possible, just as it'd be possible to use RFID proximity sensing to do all of that (and I believe some Harleys have exactly that feature).

But...why?

You'd still need a key for the gas cap.

Of course it is, might even be easy if you knew what you were doing. Good luck :thumbup

No. That is completely impossible.

:confused

:laughing

It could probably be done, but no point.you would be better off doing a hidden kill switch.Nobody is gonna steal an old vfr anyways,so I wouldn't worry :twofinger :laughing

damn you and your logic. Forgot about the gas cap! I was so focused on bread boards and wiring!

Actually the bike was stolen 2 months ago! :twofinger

This was not about theft but more about not having to use keys.

Wouldn't one of those thumbprint readers be better? You can put one on your gas cap as well.
