Jab # 3

Got my booster shot on Monday. It was Maderna after a pfizer vaccination.
First day was nothing, did a full workout in the gym.
Day 2 felt some fatigue, then as it got close to bedtime I felt chilled and sweated like a pig all night. Back to normal the next morning.

Covid test lines are the best place to catch it.
The ones they do for the HS have a well separated line outside and only a few people at a time go in. The process is really quick...a short swab and you are on your way.

The few times I've gone there were no lines. Monday morning there maybe 10 - 20 kids in line.

Everyone in our family tested negative

Sounds like my 2nd dose, but the chills were about 24 hours later. Just a headache off the booster (all Moderna)

My sisters and I have been looking for Covid tests for the last few days, and there are none to be had here in Oakland or Petaluma. Three of us are getting together for Christmas, one of which is still immunocompromised due to her kidney transplant last December, and we wanted to test ourselves first. Guess I'll check Tracy and Lockeford on the way.

San Francisco Department of Public Health. Just walk up. They will give you a Covid test, or Covid shot.

Just be mindful that there are certain questions on the paperwork, which the staff there seems to steer you to answer in a way which probably benefits how they receive funding. I refused to check the boxes they asked me to check. The guy working there had a disgusted look on his face when I stated that I will answer truthfully. But none of that matters to me.

The point is that testing and vaccinations are free, for anyone who shows up. If you really want a test, or a vaccine, it's readily available.

I went at lunch yesterday. At lunch today, I got the e-mail and text with my results.

I guess I wasn't clear in my post. Yes, I really did want a test, but we were looking for rapid tests that we could do right before getting together. I am well aware of numerous testing sites available to me here in Oakland, but did not want to wait for results. Due to my sister's suppressed immune system we all wanted rapid tests right before our get-together, and there were none to be had. I called every CVS, Target, Rite-Aid, etc. between Oakland and Valley Springs as we were driving and there were none.

Pfizer 1 + 2, and Tuesday got the Moderna booster.

1st two shots were nothing. maaaybe small barely noticable soreness on the arm for the 2nd.

Booster had/has me feeling it. Last night i was shivering/shaking cold. Non-stop shaking. Loaded up on blankets and woke up around 4am covered in sweat, but the cold shills/shaking were gone. I do have plenty of muscle soreness in my shoulders/neck and chest.
Today i've had some chills, but not to the extent where my body is shivering uncontrollably.

I got my booster last Tuesday and after what happened I remembered this thread and thought I would share.

So first two does were Pfizer and I felt nothing abnormal at all. It was a piece of cake.

So head on to last Tuesday. Got the Pfizer booster and it was fine. no pain just a little sore the next day. Thursday started feeling a little down and maybe mild cold like symptoms. Took some Ibuprofen and kept working. Took some decongestant that night to go to sleep and hopefully get 8 hours sleep. I woke up off and on through the night and then when it was time for work Friday I was feeling like crap and was cold and achy. Got onto work Friday to just call off sick. Went downstairs and found that I had a 102 degree temperature. it took about 4 hours to get it down to about 100 degrees with a lot of aspirin and ice bags. Felt like worked over shit all weekend and was super tired all weekend. Started recovering late Sunday and today is like the first normal feeling day since then. I have talked to some people at my work and apparently a few other people have had bad reactions to the booster. It was crazy especially with how much of a nothing the first two shots were. Even my wife and daughters had more of a reaction to this one than the first two.

You probably know it, and choose aspirin, ibuprofen is by far the best medicine for fever.

Yeah I got them confused in my mind. Took tylenol first and when it wasn't working took Ibuprofen later and it went down better after that then cycled them for the raging headache I had. It was a very bad Friday.

Tested positive today after feeling crappy for two days plus a small trickle all week of other positive tests at work. I think we’re all going to have our turn with this.
NyQuil & DayQuil seem to help a lot.

It doesn’t seem so bad. I figured my 3rd jab would make almost unnoticeable but not the case.
Cold like symptoms started Wednesday evening, yesterday was like a regular cold. And now very mild symptoms with a stuffy nose.

Impossible to say how it would have went had I not gotten my booster in early dec but I suspect it helped a lot.

Wife and I got ours on Thursday.

She's had two nights of low fever and chills, didn't sleep well on the first night. Bit of Tylenol and she was fine last night.

My arm is just sore, sore enough the second evening I also took some Tylenol. Also itches.

I'll say our reactions, and this was Moderna, were stronger than 1 or 2 were.

Keep us updated.

Fingers crossed your mild symptoms subside quickly.

Yikes, my experience with the actual virus isn’t near as bad as that. My temperature never got over 97. Only a few days in though so we’ll see.

The gf just got her booster yesterday and had a night of cold sweats combined with hot flashes. I’m hoping its the effects of the booster and not actually having caught covid from me.

been a while update, got Jab #4 last weekend, Moderna, again, only very mild reaction, nothing scary
doubled down with a flu vax at the same time, so plausible deniability re which vax gave me the reaction

I have passed on additional jabbing since #2.

I should go get the flu shot. I was at Walgreens but the line was a fricking mile. :laughing

At 67 we'll get the new shot when available as we have dodged Covid and gotten all the shots thus far.

Got our Flu shots 2 weeks ago at Kaiser; no waiting.

We just got our and the flu shot yesterday. Waylaid my wife last night and into this morning, but she's feeling better. We got Moderna as well.

My left arm still hurts, dunno which shot it got, they put them in each arm this year.

Planning to get the new vaccine soon. If you get an annual flu shot, there's no reason not to get a COVID shot too.
