Just got a Shoei but...

Yeah, just like Janna said, I messed around with all that other crap for 20+ years. Fog City, Shoei breath guard, Shoei breath box, various sprays, lotions, potions, etc etc.

Then I got a Respro Foggy Mask. End of problem. Don't waste 20 years screwing around, just get it!

Even better. Been using it for the last two winters on my X11.
Pinlock fogcity for Shoei's. No fogging what so ever regardless of conditions.

I have the same helmet and it only fogs up if I am going slow. If I am going fast enough, that front vent works and keeps the visor from fogging up. Having one of those breath guards works well too.

Another question regarding those breath guards and the chin covers; Are Shoei helmets suppose to come with those included? When I bought my RF-1000 it came with both inside, but when my friend bought hers, it did not.

Yes....mine had the chin cover and breath guard.

Thanks for the review. I've got one but haven't used it yet. They are pricey.

MY RF-1000 would only fog up while sitting at a light. Once I was moving, the fog would disappear. This is straight out of the box, I never applied any anti-fog or chemicals to the visor. You should probably try some of the stuff the others in this thread are saying because it looks like it'll work well. Is it fogging up when you are at speed?

My RF-1000 fogs like crazy at a stop also, but my old Z-II never fogs, which is why I wear it during colder days.

Mine didn't come with the chin cover and breath guard. Bought it at Road Rider. I had SCC order them for me. The fogging's not too bad on the visor for me, particularly with the breath guard, but it does make my glasses fog more. Still working on a good solution. :eek:/

I just wipe the inside of my visor with Fog-X (from the same company as Rain-X). It works really well, and I don't have to worry about it until I clean my visor. I'll wipe it down with Fog-X again at that point. I haven't had any problems with fog since I started doing this. :thumbup

You just bought a Shoei and it fogged... Is this your first season? This is the time of year when the humidity and temperature start making fogging more of an issue.

don't bother with anything else

As echoed by others above, FOGGY RESPRO MASK FTW :thumbup

I thought I'd found the solution with the Fog City insert. It works remarkably well. But at night, there's some weird "ghosting" effect with streetlights, headlights, and brakelights - if you only rode in the daytime, I'd say it's a fine solution, but it's a little distracting @ night. I opted for the Respro mask and now I couldn't fog up my visor if I TRIED.

It's one of the best moto-related purchases I've ever made.
