One issue for our Pakistan trip, with six airplane rides... how do you get your helmet there (and back) without damage?
It is too big for a carry-on according to published stuff and if you put it in your bag, you know they’re going to throw it at least a dozen times.

I actually went to Kali the other day and had them inspect my helmet. I did pack it carefully for the trip with a chest protector on both sides. My suitcase was rather banged up. Still, I would have rather carried it on as did everyone else.

Brad at Kali took bits apart and looked for signs of stress and damage. It passed. My helmet is just fine. I can't imagine that would be true if not for the chest protector and copious padding. Or a lesser quality helmet. Kali does have you crash it they replace it free policy. Once. Research, y'know.

of note is the on way back everyone had to check helmets because of some bunker busting actions somewhere.

Not everyone 😎 my Arai helmet bag flew under the radar as a personal item the entire trip.

back in 2006 I took an Arai to Hawaii to rent a bike and carried it on. Wore a leather motorcycle jacket, riding jeans and Red wing boots on the plane, definitely did not look like someone going to Oahu.

Irene, prymnumber, had a baggage issie and i thing, correct me if I am wrong girl, wore all her gear on the pan with her carry on.

that said, this opportunity is quite unique. it is RIGHT NOW. It may not exist in five years. The world changes.

Interesting testament to the comfort of the riding jeans being stuck on a plane to Hawaii.
I had a some Kevlar jeans that surprisingly broke in like butter.
I haven't been able to repeat that trick.
