Kate Middleton's boobs

I was surveying the Brit newspapers. It's actually a big deal there. Unbelievable. Talk of criminal action against the photographer and publisher. There actually is a lesson in there at a time when the much more serious situation is ongoing.

Western society's breast fixation is just so stoopid. And tiresome.

Well, I love 'em, too. But to see people get so upside down over a pair. Like that Janet Jackson Superbowl thing. Oh, it was so shocking that America's children might see a nipple in SUCH a wholesome family show. A nipple, fercrissakes. As in what might have nourished them to life....

Glad (but empathetic to females) that I'm male so I don't have to trip about being able to take off my damn shirt if its hot. When are we gonna grow up????

People deserve some privacy. She's normally a modest dresser and in her shoes I'd feel very upset.

If I were in her bra, I'd pick somewhere I knew for damn certain no one could see my boobz, if I wanted to run around topless.

Again, I think the photog is a sleeze, and so are the publishers, but as a royal, that has to be expected. She's possibly the world's biggest celebrity. She's gotta be really, really careful if she doesn't want the world seeing her stuff.

But didn't this take place on their private property? It seems like she has a reasonable expectation of privacy which was violated.

I'm not saying her privacy wasn't violated. It was. But......... being a mega-celeb, one would think that they'd expect this sort of shit and to find somewhere else to sunbathe. How much property do they own? How much money do they have? There has to be a 100% secluded place to do this.

Doesn't matter-she's representing you and your country to the world. Think of the boob guys who've now lost faith in the monarchy.

For King and Country....

I don't know if ironic is the right world, but this is coming from a country that is famous for having Page 3 boob girls on many of their regular newspapers. Way less square than our papers...and more objectifying....

Who reads till page 3, thank god for German news :)

Well, technically, her estate was emiiting light that a sophisticated receiver could turn into a picture. She was broadcasting to almost half the observable universe :nerd

Yeah, in general, our somewhat puritan views of sex are strange, since the large majority of Americans are descendants of more open-minded Euros.

It's weird because England did go through their Victorian period, in which a lot of very scientific thinking was taking place simultaneously with the big coverup.

People who study such things would probably say that the US got more conservative and prudish since the founding, similar to the Victorian era. But here, it seemed to stick.

I dunno. Some people link it to racism and the notion of keeping white women's bodies seem somehow more special. It's extended to other ethnicities, etc, but that dichotomy of tribal women the world over versus here remains...

I guess it's somehow comingled with capitalism as well as religious sentiments. There's money in sanctioned boobs in fashion, movies, etc etc...

PS. To Sandy: evidently somebody does (read page 3). It's nearly a sub-genre within their journalism. And, my son, who lived in Berlin, told me what big paper readers the Germans are. It would be nice to have that here instead of our shrinking monopoly.
