Kings Canyon - Central Valley - Paso Robles - Hi1 Ride

We made it up to Santa Cruz and stayed a block from the Boardwalk. We were again able to park right in front of our room. The motel was convenient if nothing else. We wanted to enjoy the Boardwalk since we hadnt been there since Summer of 2020 during the pandemic. It was open then but a ghost town. It was packed on Thursday.

We ate too much junk food but enjoyed the warm afternoon. Today we jumped on 1 and headed back up to San Mateo. A happily uneventful ride. The water north of davenport was just as stunning as it had been in Monterey. It's always bitter sweet to get home from these rides. Happy to be home, sad I'm home. lol We jump on a flight to Vegas on Monday night for a whole different type of adventure. Thanks for checking it out! 26. Daven port.jpg27. Home.jpeg

I wish I'd known you were coming. You could've stayed at our place in Miramonte. 7 miles from the visitor center as the crow flies. Extra added bonus, you'd get to ride Dunlap Road all the way to 245 on your way into the park! Love those roads!
Thank you for the offer! If we head out that way again, I'll reach out.

Highway 245 & Dunlap Road now on my list.
Great pictures.
Inspired to go to Kings Canyon
Thanks for sharing.

I will also vouch for the awesomeness of Dunlap Rd and Hwy 245 :thumbup heading south, you can go all the way till it merges into 216 into Visalia, or early out down Boyd Rd into the valley near Orosi/Orange Cove/Dinuba and be set to loop back north toward Fresno

Solid ride / report. I too got pizza from Bear Mountain when I was doing a run on Kings Canyon. It hit the spot!
