Not so much. MDFMK was a project dedicated to Sascha's ego after the split with Gunter and Nick. Friction from his new girlfriend (now wife) Lucia and the work Tim Skold was adding in left the older members of the band feeling alienated, thus the split and subsequent reinvention of MDFMK and the forming of Frankie's beloved Slick Idiot, by Nick and Gunter. Of course after MDFMK was a total failure (I didn't think it was that bad) Sascha realized that he needed to get back to basics and work with the unstoppable visionary rivet god that is Raymond Watts, thus KMFDM was reborn and released ATTAK, one of their best albums to date. Unfortunatley, I think Raymond's drug addiction and ego issues revolving arounf his success in KMFDM and the lack thereof with his other projects have driven him away from Sascha and KMFDM has suffered for it.
Pigface always felt sort of phony to me, like it was created with the idea of appealing to a crowd, kind of like NIN's later work, you know?

I've just never been that big of a KMFDM fan. A bit too poppy for my taste I guess. There are some songs I like, but never been a band I've gone out of my way for. I always prefered the more sample intensive stuff. haujobb, earlier FLA and Skinny Puppy, though Skinny Puppy should have died with Dwayne before the Process came out or that god awfull last album.
Pigface has some good songs, and depending on the line up, can put on a pretty good show. Though there are better side projects out there. The Tear Garden, download, all the various Snog side projects, etc.
The way you feel about KMFDM is how I feel about Einsturzende Neubauten. Even their bad stuff is still pretty damn good. I'm still pissed I didn't get my Neubauten tattoo finished in time to be on the tour poster a few years back. I do miss F.M. Einheit's influence on them, but his solo stuff has been really amazing. Thank god Blixa quit the Bad Seeds after Nick Cave when clean and his music went to shit.

Lately though I've been on an old Zoth Ommog Kick. Psychopomps, Armageddon Dildoes, X Marks the Pedwalk. Psychopomps in particular. Godshit is an AWESOME song.

That brings back memories. I haven't listened to X Marks in ages.
It's such a small scene that it's easy for people to get over looked a lot. Especially on the more obscure labels that don't get sold at hot topic or virgin...
I do like PIG, though I hate Psychic TV and everything Genesis has ever tainted.

PIG actually did a release on Nothing, apparently Reznor is a big fan, but it never went anywhere.

Nothing has released some good stuff. I don't hate the guy, just not a big fan of his music, and even I'll admit that his early stuff was pretty decent, even if it did make him MTV's industrial poster boy.

To maybe seem a newb, I prefer Ministry and Thrill Kill Kult to KMFDM and F242.
Maybe my favorite live show I ever saw was Pigface at the Troc. I got an hour of hot gothy frottage and my bud got his ankle broken in the pit, it seemed epic at the time.
Goddamn Genesis P. was on stage, a crazed old freak with greyed dreads and more scars than imaginable.
Pigace's Fook album is stellar.
