Anyone know how early does someone need to be there to sign up for demo rides? A lot of companies listed this year - Honda, Yamaha, HD, Suzuki, Aprilia, Indian, CFMOTO. Hoping at least 4 or 5 of them are able to setup & have bikes available. Last year it seemed all availability was booked out quickly.

Ride Preview for Friday: Airline Highway Run to Paso Robles + Monterey Weekend + Moto America Sunday

I’m heading out Friday morning from Petaluma traveling to Alice’s then continuing on CA‑35 / Skyline. I’ll take 35 south, drop down CA‑84 into Woodside, then run the usual 280 → 85 → 101 stretch.

The new part for me begins when I turn onto Highway 25 aka Airline Highway. First time riding it, so I’m interested to see how it feels. From there I’ll continue onto Highway 198, also new to me, and then finish the run into Paso Robles via Peach Tree Road and Indian Valley Road. Haven’t been on any of those roads before.

I’ll stay in Paso Friday night, then head north on Saturday via Highway 1 toward Monterey for MotoAmerica at Laguna Seca.

I’ll also be stopping by Bike Night on Cannery Row on Saturday evening.

If anyone has thoughts or tips on 25, 198, Peach Tree, Indian Valley, or Cannery Row during race weekend, feel free to add them to this post.

If anyone has thoughts or tips on 25, 198, Peach Tree, Indian Valley,
Love 25 - great road. Weekends you’ll find a bit more traffic to contend with, especially cars pulling boats/campers/water toys. Plenty of passing opportunities, except where the twisties are, which is where you’ll likely find them.

You really won’t spend any time on 198 if you’re planning to take Peach Tree/Indian Valley down to Paso. It’s just a jog at the end of 25, and then you’re on Peach Tree.

There are a couple of decreasing radius turns on 25 that can catch you off guard, so if you’re planning on a spirited ride, just beware. Also, things get narrower and goatier south of 198. You won’t encounter many vehicles, except the odd dually coming the other way from around a blind right hander that has gravel on the inside - another gotcha opportunity.

Have fun! Sounds like a great ride.

If Fernwood is too busy just a few hundred feet or so north on the east side is Ripplewood cafe at the two gas pumps. Excellent clean family run little cafe. I ride up from Morro Bay with that as my destination.

Thanks for the tip on this cafe.
Appreciate your reply on this.

last year there was also a lot of them companies listed offering "demo rides" and all I saw if I recall was Yamaha and Indian - maybe HD too... so don't get your hopes up too high... and it's usually show up and sign up for a slot to then take a guided ride in the area... but, sometimes worth it to get a "feel" for a bike...

I'm sure we'll all walk past each other and have no idea....I'll be there Sat/ Sun, working our booth for parts of the day. Would be cool to meet you all, who're gonna be there.
