Lagunitas Sucks!

Haven't really tried the Lagunitas beers... have had a couple in the past, and they were a little too too light and too hoppy for my taste... so in the interest of trying to make this a beer discussion, what would you Lagunitas fans recommend I try? My favorite is Guinness... so what's comparable?

If Guinness is your favorite, I don't think that Lagunitas has anything for your palette. You might try their imperial stout, but I think its flavors might be a bit too shouty for you if you prefer the fairly tame flavors of Guinness.

I'll give it a try. Also love Rasputin's Imperial Stout... but they don't carry it at Nob Hill.

Lagunitas Sucks was allright

The 3B - Brandywine was amazing

The Sour Stout was absolutely amazing

The beer I can't pronounce, was seriously amazing

The taxi driver that took me home, was nice to have :drunk

I had a great beer at the Pyramid brewing, and I wish I could find it again....

Oh, they have guest beers now? :laughing

Kidding, they have a couple that are decent.

Koi, tell me more about the sour stout. Better yet, BUY ME SOME.

No shit, I want to hear about this sour stout.

I have a sour brown right now on tap (Aaron, you know where I live) that is awesome.

Race 5 is strong, very strong. WHY IS THE ROOM SPINNING I ONLY HAD THREE BEERS? :laughing

So are the Pliny and Dogfish. Coworker took me out after work and we drank a pitcher of Pliny. Ay caramba, it took me quite some time to sober up. :loco

Aged in a Pinot Noir barrel for 4 months, amazing flavor, beautifully smooth on the tongue.

Oh, and since Cousin Bunny works there I gotz the hookup on a growler :teeth

Tried some at Mad Dog in the Fog, in SF. I liked it! It wasn't too hoppy or to sweet. I tried that Brown Shugga, but it was too sweet or malty for me. Also I just usually don't really like the taste of higher alcohol beers. But the Sucks went down smooth and easy, refreshing and crisp.

Hmmmm is it too early for beer???:staRang

Tried Lagunitas Sucks yesterday; not one of their better beers IMHO.

fyi, case of mendocino ales (mixed 6 packs) on sale at teh bevmo for 25 bucks...hell of a bargain and pretty tasty sweet/malty brews they have. red tail and blue heron both make a killer half and half too-

murphys and redtail:

Okay I'll ask: where to get this stuff in SF? My local Grover doesn't carry it and neither does bevmo. It was easy to find in the pacific northwest where I spent all week, but now I'm having trouble.

Went to Bear Republic yesterday; the Apex IPA was :thumbup

I switched to the far lower alcohol NorCal Ale after the IPA and it was creamy delicious. :thumbup

We are fortunate up here in Sonoma County to have some great nearby brewpubs.

Lagunitas, Russian River (walking distance from the house, Bear Republic, Dempsey's in Petaluma and others.

Here's a great little article on a "beer tour" of Sonoma and Mendocino counties which would be a great way to spend a few days as the roads are great for motorcycles and all the breweries have nearby accommodations available.

BevMo in San Rafael had it for 7.99 a six pack on Friday. I bought a couple. Good stuff.
