I used to commute on a Victory Cross Country Tour. Pretty big beast. Since my fairing/bars were wider than the bags, as long as the front could get through, I was pretty sure the rear was getting through with no issues.
In general, the bigger/wider the bike, the slower you want to split. That being said, I've been behind some riders on Goldwings who split like madmen leaving me in the dust even though I was on a much smaller and narrower bike.
Just ride within your comfort zone and if you have any doubts, slow it down and wait if needed.
