Large explosion recorded in Beirut

Fireworks? Lebanon is about to collapse and we have a "fireworks" explosion? The truth is out there.

Funny place to put a fireworks factory. Someone been smoking in the rocket locker again.

Spectrometry will show Semtex or something, if anyone checks.

Seems crazy that fireworks could do that, but I don't know anything about fireworks or bombs. Seems even crazier that there would be a fireworks storage facility or production facility so close to town.

Another view, you an see fireworks going off before the large explosion.

Well sure, but that's not what they kept in the basement.

It happened in a warehouse at the port. State media is talking about fireworks, Benzene tanks and wheat. International media is talking about verdicts coming Friday in trial of Hezbollah bombers who killed President al-Hirari in 2005. A second explosion is reported near his home.

This is a quarter mile from my parents' place... there are voice recordings of eye witnesses claiming jets (presumably Israeli jets destroying Hezbullah ammunition) - I've seen tons of vids, but I'm not sure how to post them here

It's hard to post about state of Lebanon without getting political, so I'll let it go.

Bassem- I really hope they're OK.

I hope your parents are ok and that their home is undamaged.

Agreed on both points.

Just have to work hard to disseminate the information from multiple sources in order to come to a good conclusion of what really happened.

They're a bit shaken, but healthy.

All windows are shattered obviously, but no injuries, at least at home.

:wow
