Got my blood work tests back. The Cholesterol screen rocked! I work to keep the numbers good, this was a great result.

CHOLESTEROL 169 <239- mg/dL
TRIGLYCERIDE 63 <199- mg/dL
HDL 48 >40- mg/dL
LDL CALCULATED 108 <129- mg/dL

Had scrambled eggs to celebrate ( I eat eggs about twice a month.)

You should also be getting your psa done at once a year. Alt ast bilit alkp is another good panel to keep an eye on.

If youre with kaiser you can go to the lab and get you chol tested without a doctors order. Its one of the tests you can order yourself. Also you can see me next time you need your blood drawn.

Great numbers. I have tried some of the Rx stuff Lipitor, Pravachol and Crestor, and it beats me up good. Tried Niacin (nicotinic acid) and didn`t like the flushes and side effects.

Had good luck with Zetia (dropped 80 points in 30 days) and it works differently than the statins, so no aching joints for me. Then report came out last year saying it was not effective, but now its was found it works fine if not used with a statin too (Vytorin), soooo back on Zetia.

Congrats Ernie! :applause

Too bad that the "fork oil" thread in the Garage Section is shooting your blood pressure back up. :p

Bleh - Pete's cholesterol is 300. The boy is 34 and only 150-155 pounds. He's basically a solid! He needs to walk the dog more...diet is only helping a little bit!
