List some Great Christmas Movies

Dear Mr. Kornholio-

I LOVE you my Brother, I mean that sincerely, but you must open up your mind to accept the FACT that Die Hard is indeed a Christmas movie. It was released in the Summer months to coincide with the time of year that the people of Poland celebrate Christmas. This is a fact.

PS- quit being cruel to TheRobSJ. He's suffered enough, with the McRib sales being halted in the Bay Area. :teeth

How is Groundhog Day a Christmas movie? :laughing

It's not a "thanksgiving movie" either, but they play it a ton from november through january. It's a movie for the holiday season. Wait...is this thread title to be taken literally, movies about christmas? I usually interpret that as movies for the holidays, and these movies may not have christmas as the central theme, movies like die hard. To me, die hard is checks the xmas box, even though it doesn't really have anything to do with xmas. If we're being literal, it's an action movie about terrorist thieves and xmas is just this little side thing used as a segue for a few jokes, which is definitely not enough to call it a xmas movie. Most christmas movies aren't actually about christmas and for an actual xmas movie you'd probably need to head over to the family channel or lifetime or something like that.

Again, the plot is 100% immaterial as is the soundtrack. It was released in the dead of summer and thus is not a Christmas movie.

I vote yes on xmas movie and they do play Let It Snow (as office paper and maybe bonds rain out of the Nakitomi building) and other tunes. I can’t remember why he ends up at their office Christmas party tho. Invited by accident or something? Isn’t he trying to get her back when she might be vulnerable because of the holiday? Didn’t he rent the limo for that reason?

And I would imagine there is some dimension of holiday sentiment because the wife softens her heart near the end when officer Al says “you got a good man there” or something. Shit, I have watched that movie so many times…..

But I can see that it’s an action movie with xmas twist, more than a xmas movie with an action twist. But if you guys are gonna include all the slasher movies, they can be in that category too, goddamit. Not wholesome whatsoever.

But I don’t want to get in buddies’ controversy, I just wanted to add in my favorite line “They’re going to need more agents.” (After helicopter blows up). That always makes me do a spit take with my eggnog.

No, I said Die Hard isn't a Christmas movie.

Are you St Nick, Kornsiskel, Kornebert or what?? No. More like holio than you. :laughing

So I stand in your phones face saying it is the best Christmas movie. I tried a McRib because of you. Your stance is just as disappointing as that fake rib. :laughing

Probably hit Rob’s Christmas shit list on that but I had to make a point. :p

This logic does not fly for me. It was a blockbuster movie, so of course it comes out during Summer. If a movie needs to come out during the holiday season to be a Christmas movie, that would mean that Schindler’s List is more of a Christmas movie than Die Hard. Or perhaps the rom com coming out tomorrow with the latest Hollywood “it girl” Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell where they are at a destination wedding or whatever in a tropical setting…that’s a Christmas movie too then.
