Living in Concord

You should probably qualify this as Clayton Blvd, instead of Clayton the township.

Yup, Clayton the township is about as calm as you can get. Bit of a hidden gem out here at the entrance to Mt Diablo.

The good: Far away from everything so it's quiet
The bad: Far away from everything so it's quiet :p

Flemings is good. Ruth Chris sucks donkey balls.

Plz, Monument isn't that bad. At Costco the biggest thing you have to worry about is dodging Walnut Creek soccer moms in white Escalades and asian ladies in the parking lot. If we were talking Richmond or Oaklamd that would be one thing.

All these murders this year are right by Monument... source: Contra Costa Times.

Dec. 1: Luis Estrada , 16,Martinez resident found shot to death in Hillcrest Park, off Olivera Road
Nov. 20: Arturo Fernando Arellano, 36Concord resident found shot to death near Monument Boulevard and Erickson Road
Oct. 30: Robert Ortega, 25Concord resident found shot to death near corner of Monument Boulevard and Lacey Lane
Sept. 12: Erick Cruz, 20Concord resident found dead in courtyard of Pine Meadows apartments, 1100 block of Meadow Lane

Anyone know anything about living in El Sobrante / San Pablo?

My g/f lives in El Sobrante off Valley View and it's a nice area. Pretty quiet and still close to lots of stores and a few minutes from 80.

Her neighbor's house just went up for sale. It's just under 1,500 sq.ft. though and they're asking too much.

The Dec 1 incident doesn't count as "near monument". The other three....ok, yeah.

There are some sketchy areas off monument.
The closer to pleasant hill you get on monument it gets better.
Also it kind of seems like Monument is like the proverbial train tracks. One side is worse then the other side. Oak grove for example right at monument and on the side by food 4 less is bad. The side closest to treat is nice.

:laughing

Damn, you got me. Isn't that just open space?? I think it maybe separated by unincorporated area.

Yeah there's a lot of nothing in between. The crappiest parts of Pittsburg are East of Railroad Ave and anywhere north of the train track.

Martinez has been considered, but we really want to keep it as close to Pleasant Hill as possible. I have a brother in a care facility in Pleasant Hill.

Well I'm sure you've already figured out budget is everything and unless you want to share your price range I don't know how much good everyone's help is going to do for you. Nice schools and neighborhoods are all expensive and expensive is obviously relative.

FYI, Martinez does border Pleasnt Hill. My backyard actually opens up to Pleasant Hill open space and I'm in the Pleasant Hill School district even though I have a Martinez address. I have my kids going to Martinez schools though, I'm sure some of you are like :wow WFT.

I've lived in the City of Clayton near Seeno's house, North Concord, and several parts of Martinez. Again without your budget I can't be of much help to you, maybe I missed it.
