Duuuuude. Up until I watched your screw up video the biggest thing I ever saw dropped from a crane on accident was 2 tons. That was wayyyyyyy worse. And details on that?

I don't remember too much. I think the lift was in the neighborhood of 50 tons. The entire cage was being removed and destined for scrap. For some reason the contractor did not first remove that black hose on the far side (low pressure gas line). The hose weighed maybe 10 thousand pounds. It made the whole lift imbalanced. With that imbalance it put most of the weight on one clasp. That one let go, then the rest all did in sequence after that. If you listen to it carefully, you can hear all six pop one right after the other.

No one was hurt, and nothing important was damaged. Which is almost unbelievable. If it had decided to fall towards the camera, that guy on the man lift probably would have been taken out.

That pic is only of the center compartment. There's four side compartments as well. The center makes up about 1/4 of the total volume
