:nchantr WTF I need another rear tire! What's the longest lasting one? I don't care about grip. They all grip fine for the way I ride. 180/55-17.
Sport touring or touring. It'd be nice if it was good in the rain. My current fancy ones are a death trap in the rain. I hear rumors some of them will last 10k-15k miles on a man's bike. That's what I need.
Thanks!

What kind of bike? I got 8K out of a Pirelli Angel ST on my Aprilia RSV.

PS, you need to care about grip. Grip is all you have.

Michelin Pilot Road. The original, not the Road 2. Wears like granite.

Pilot road 3's i got 10k out the rear 13k out the front

Buell 1125. I actually put on a used Angel in the back cuz it was still good, cheap, and I didn't know what tires I wanted. I got about 5k miles out of the used one. It looked good when I got it. I ride 70 miles/day on the freeway.:nchantr but I do take the fun way back if there's time. After doing alright on 8 year old stock plastic tires with other bikes, I think any new tire will be fine for how hard I push it on public road corners. Actually the Angel was waaayyyy better in the rain but I still have a soft fancy one in the front I should change soon.

I don't care about grip.

No simple answer because it has a lot to do with which tire, how, when and where it's ridden, and most importantly, how it's taken care of. For me the most mileage I've gotten out of sportbike tires are BT020, it lasted approx: 12k miles for the rear and 15k miles for the front. None of the sportbike tires I ran can touch the cruiser tires I've used though i.e. ME880, in terms of mileage.

Since you don't care about grip, ever thought about joining the Darkside?

Dunlop K491
:laughingIs this something I had on one of my 80's POS's? They last forever!!
I remember putting a million miles on some bias ply Metzelers

You mean getting a cruiser or shoving a car tire back there?
Yes, to both of those.

Car tire on your current bike. Not much grip through corners but it should last at least 3x as long.

I might do that on my next bike. This one is too fun in the corners. By "I don't ride hard" I mean I just set my speed before the turn. I don't brake or accel. mid corner cuz their are deer and bicycles n shit.

Yep, I hear ya. This guy said, once you become a Darksider, you'll never go back:

"Alot of shops will not mount a car tire ....Did you ask them already ? I've been on The DarkSide since 1999 and I've passed crotch rockets on The Dragon. If you mount one I'll bet you will never go back to a motorcycle tire."

I like the Avon Storm ST's... but can't really compare them with anything else.

ME 880. Fits your criteria to a "T"

My bt023 I had on the rear of my rc51 lasted about 5k miles till it flat spotted. The bt023 front i had felt so numb i couldnt tell waht my fri t end was doing half the time. Im running a pilot road 33 on my zx10. The grip is amazing. I road it on some wet roads after last rains we had and the wet grip blew me away. I've heard people on a concorus 14 getting 7-8kthe miles out of a rear. Im at about 1500the and the rear still looks brand new.
