Los Altos Chainsaw Man

I disagree. He didn’t hurt anyone and didn’t intend to hurt anyone. Just scare the rider. I don’t agree with his actions but you can’t really throw someone in jail for a great amount of time when there really isn’t a person or organization that was victimized. 18 months will keep him on his best behavior and hopefully make him think before he acts.

I agree with the sentencing as long as there were some fine in there to somewhat offset the court costs and such.

I was about 3 feet away from this crazy ass when he had that chainsaw up to that riders face. I don't know what kept him from hacking away but he looked like he was going to do it. 20 days is bullshit he should have gotten a whole lot more.

oh! Do you personally know this guy?! Do you know he didn't intend to hurt anyone? Did he tell you this?

You know what? I'm bored today... I'm going to go home, grab my AR15 and hold up a mini mart. I'm not going to actually take anything (I'll pay for my RedBull first), but I'm going to put the muzzle right into this guys face just so that I can watch him wet himself.

I won't actually pull the trigger or anything... No, wait! I'll leave it unloaded and when the hammer drops I'm sure that he'll soil himself as the click will sound to him like a ton of bricks hitting the ground. Yea... that'll be fun, I won't even intend to hurt anybody and nobody will be a victim! Sweet!

I first must say that I was not there and I'm just basing my judgment one what I’ve read. There is no mention of the guy hitting anyone, or making an actual attempt to cut anyone up. From what I’ve read he got in the face of the on he was targeting and definitely could have cut them with the saw but he didn’t. That should tell you it was not his goal to cut anyone up. He sounds crazy but not that crazy.

Your story about holding up a mini mart doesn’t work. You are holding people against their will inside a building with an illegal gun (I assume an AR-15 is not legal for civilians though I’m no firearm expert). I would definitely expect you to receive a greater sentence.

If it were my wife and kids I would be pretty upset but I would hope I could step back and evaluate what laws the guy actually broke and if the sentence justified that.

I don’t know about you guys but I would rather use that guy’s cell for someone who inflicted pain or death on another human than someone who made a threat with a weapon.

Out of curiosity, how much time do you guys think he should serve?

seems fair to me, especially with murder typically resulting in 7 years, 20 days plus probation is about right.

"uh, boss, I can't come to work for the next 3 weeks"

"oh, really, why is that?"

"threatened a guy with a chainsaw"

"oh, no problem, just come back when you get out. shit happens, eh?"

The article says the prosecuters dropped the charges of deadly weapon and only pressed the battery charges. Part of a plea-bargain, it seems.

I still am worried about the fucker taking it out on some poor unsuspecting motorcyclist when no one is around to see.

Exactly. If he would have been charged with deadly weapon with intent he would be doing some REAL time. Battery will only get you a slap on the wrist the first few times.

I think you need to calm down and reread what I typed. Nowhere did I state I would let anyone bring harm to my wife and kids.

i stand by what i said, its your thought process that makes you a coward..IMO....people like you (potental jurors) are the reason why no one goes to jail anymore..if you had ever seen this drunken idiot at alices (and i have).. you would know that he will not be phased whatsoever by his slap on the wrist..and as sure as god made little green apples..he will do it again when the situation arises, and next time somebody will probably get hurt...now go iron your skirt ..you friggin hump! by the way...:twofinger

When I decapitated my neighbors with a chainsaw the INS and Border patrol couldn't hold me. They took my picture and confiscated my bloody chainsaw and my homemade sword:cry !

Unfortunately the New York Highway patrol picked me up and now I have to pay dearly. Maybe this guy and I could be cell mates.:teeth

We could trade chainsaw secrets and construct a new and more efficient line of reasonably priced saws. Anyone have any capital they want to invest?:confused

where does this guy live again? anyone want to come with me and pay him a visit???

THIS thread was sent to several news agencies. Please tone it down guys...moderator please delete inappropiate posts!

I worry about what's going to happen in a week or two when this bonehead is back on the road?

i dont see why some posts should be deleted. let news agencies know what motorcyclists feel about this incident. this is an outrage. this guy charges bikers with a chainsaw and he gets slapped in the wrist with a misdemeanor charge. what the hell is that? he charged someone with a damn running chainsaw. this should be on all bay area news.

You might want to drop by the courthouse and see what criminals are receiving as punishment these days. The chainsaw guy actually received a fairly long sentence. The DA’s are more concerned about their win / loss record, then they are about keeping the criminals off of the streets. Plea bargains are a way of life for the DA. The criminals get to pick Door #1, Door #2, or Door #3. Generally none of the doors lead to much jail time, unless it’s a highly published case. Remember the guy in LA that threw the little dog into traffic and killed it. He received more jail time then criminals that have been convicted of serious bodily injury to a person. We seem to have a number of issues out of wack in today’s society.

I guess I’m unaware of this nation’s vacant prisons. By me not wanting to string someone up on speculation of what they might do next makes me a coward in your eyes. Then call me a coward.

However, instead of name calling, could you please inform me of what laws this guy broke and how much time he should serve?

You mean what broken law he was convicted of. The ass wipe definitely deserved and earned a more severe punishment but as someone else mentioned our justice system's priorities are screwed up.

You need a lawyer dude.

Since you're not a citizen of this country, nobody should be allowed to touch you or your property. And the taking your picture thing? What's next? Butt pyramids?

I see a book in your future......................;)

How do you know this? You sent it to "several news agencies"?

Sparkie, no name calling, the ":twofinger" doesn't mean you can stir up shit,
