I agree that it's not all "Big Pharma's" problem. They create the drugs and make people want to use them, but they are only a small amount of what we pay for the drugs. It's everything on top of what the drug manufacturers charge that is the problem. I think that the medical insurance industry in the US is part of the problem. They have gotten bloated with red tape similar to universities in the us. There is so much money being spent on compliance and red tape that is passed on to the rest of us.
So, I don't think we can ever fix the initial cost of the drugs, but I'd at least like to pay something closer to what the rest of the world pays for the same drugs. And, I think that Cuban is taking us closer to that by getting rid of a lot of the steps in between the drug companies and us. Not taking medical insurance is probably the biggest source of the savings.
