Married gents, would you?

Are there enough Arab men that wish to have sex with their dead wives that they had to pass a law to allow this? Didn't know there were that many necrophiliacs in the Arab world. Something about Arab men enjoying sick perversions forms of sex: necrophiliac, sex with little girls, sex with little boys, camel sex, etc.

:barf

Hoax or not, this is one country that practices female genital mutilation. If you don't know what it is, look it up.

That guy is just saying that he doesn't THINK it's true... he doesn't provide any factual data that it's not. :dunno

While it appears to be a hoax, the plethora of islamist parties seeking political power in the mid east is not. Turkey, once the only one of two muslim countries with a democratic government, is slowly becoming an islamist state. O well.

The law to allow marriage at 14 is not a hoax and is in draft form. The convenience is manifold, it gets women married young and dumb, prevents them from education, and ties them to family and home at an early age. Great stuff if you want a male dominated society that victimizes women.

Pretty much this.

Apparently those nefarious Islamists have been running pilot programs in Alabama, Kansas, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and possibly other states as well (depending on special circumstance). All are male-dominated woman-victimizing places for sure...

http://family.findlaw.com/marriage/state-by-state-marriage-age-of-consent-laws.html

Without checking, I believe most of these states have 16 as the age of consent (I think maybe Arkansas was 15?), which, in percentage terms, is quite different from 14. There is also the issue of arranged v. free will marriages.

Contribution noted. I believe those states are primarily parental consent states with a few technicalities. Are you suggesting that's equivalent to a non consent age 14 marriage in a state with islamist shaded law? Given the extremely harsh treatment of women in Shariah law, I'd suspect you might be a bit uncomfortable with that. (In other words, there is a long and horror filled treatment of women in muslim states that goes on today. It includes stoning to death of raped women, stoning to death of adulterous women, and other charming practices. Are you seriously maintaining that the southern states are at this level?)

For a change, it would be pleasant if you would actually MAKE A CLEAR STATEMENT with a conclusion, rather than your usual snarky comments and ad hominem attacks that state nothing and are void of meaning other than a certain bilious hatred for me.
Of course I'm uncomfortable with it, which is why I pointed out the similarity between casually-accepted religion-inspired U.S. law. Not saying any of the states (they're not all southern, BTW) are currently stoning anyone, but they sure do recognize the "right" of parents to marry off their 14-year-old daughters.

Sorry my statement wasn't clear enough, but it was far from an ad hominem attack. I was simply posting facts that corresponded to the ones you posted; sorry if that offended you. And "hatred" for you? Get over yourself! :rofl

You absolutely can.

It's almost worse when it's done for cosmetic reasons.

Ok, you CAN compare if you're trying to prove a point.

Unless I misunderstood, when they "fix" the woman they cut out her clit. Wouldn't that be the sexual functional equivalent as cutting of the guy's tip ?

Is that what circumcision for men is, cutting off the tip of their cock ?

Depends on the extent, not everyone goes that far.

As far as the male equivalent:

It can be... nerve damage isn't unheard of.

Let them do whatever they want to themselves. Once these parties come to power, they realize it is not easy - dealing with taxes, education, roads etc etc. The only thing worse is installing dictators over them allowing for more rabid militants to emerge since only they were crazy enough to stand up to our dictators.

I guess the term "Don't tread upon me" apply only on Americans and we are free to tread upon others :|

P.S. Age of consent in parts of Oz and Scotland is 15. Now I don't know about you but IMO 15 year olds are not THAT much mature either. Or are you going to start a thread on the depravity of Australians and Scots too?

Ok then. You provide the factual data that it IS so. One thing this shows is our bias. How easily were we all led to believe that this stupidity actually taking place. Some of us are still insisting that it is true.

Nor did I state that it was an ad hominem attack, I said it was your USUAL style. It is your usual style, however, to pick out a few words out of context, misquote them, and use that as a basis for personal attack.

Some people never learn. :twofinger

.
I didn't start the thread. I'm commenting on a fairly obvious religious move to minimize the position of women in society. Sorry you are offended when any muslim is criticized. Egypt actually has the best public education system, and free, of all muslim countries. However that apparently will be changing if the Muslim brotherhood succeeds in gaining power.

I don't give a shit. That's why I said "o well." It's their country, if they want to victimize women and stone harlots, fuck em. Let them. So how am I in any way suggesting we do anything about it? Fuck them and the horse they rode in on.
