Took me a second to realize this photo was taken from above, I thought he was riding on a cliff wall.

Totally!!... Epic fun!

I did not realize the pic was from above and was thinking that drop was going to be a ball buster.

MBM 2021 was epic! Large group of Barfers and core Baja folks from over the years. That drop into the slot canyon was a butt clencher… Leo’s shot of me from above as I am preparing to drop in is awesome.

Trails were ridden, great food consumed, drinks shared, memories made, and stories told……

My take away, there are no Strip Bars in Barstow.

This was an epic trip! Super fun group of folks and we only had one mechanical, and zero errors due to poor maintenance or being generally unprepared!

The routes were set up by CycleNomad and thedub, so special thanks to them for putting this together! Excellent job you guys!

Day one:

Looks like you guys had a bunch of fun. That slot canyon drop doesn't look too bad as long as you stayed on your line, off it and you'd do a 10 ft header on rocks.

Hope that wrist is doing OK Beka, we got some trials to ride in the coming months when your new bike come in!

Day two, most folks just did part of the loop. My group went counter clockwise and slabbed back on Route 66.

A couple years ago, Baby Michael slipped on wet rock entering that drop. His bike slid out from under him, leaked gas, foot pegs caused a spark and ignited the gas. It was a close call, but now that part is known as Baby Michael Canyon.

Dead serious….. was hard to get my mind around it and even asked bartender with local knowledge. So I drowned my sorrows in blended strawberry margaritas interspersed with shots of well tequila.
