Except for Rossi in MotoGP,first time going to laguna seca.
any tips on where the best spot is to view the race?
preferably someplace where there are lots of overtaking attempts.
any info greatly appreciated cheers.
The racing should be good. There are a couple of supersport guys that are fast at Laguna and know it well. Zemke is very good at Laguna.I'll be there pumped for the Grand Prix but honestly equally pumped to watch the AMA guys... really been into the superbike class this year and the sportbike/supersport has been exciting as well.
If you sit on the big hill, you can watch most of the track. If you're near the top, you can go over the top to see the leaders go through the corkscrew then go back to the other side to see them over most of the track. That's how I usually do it. After the first 10 laps they are pretty spread out, so you can sit down on the big hill and watch the rest of the race sans the corkscrew (live), but if you bring binoculars, you can watch it on the jumbo tron when they go through the corkscrew..first time going to laguna seca.

I have never been to MotoGP and been asking around but have not gotten an answer, I was wondering is it worth it to buy the paddock pass for sunday?

Every person seems to have their own favorite place/way to watch the race.
