Yeah probably not. If I had money to give away I’d probably start with family first.
Those two simple made a bad choice in this case and bad choices have consequences sometimes.
 
i use to play scratchers, buy 10 consecutive cards at a time after payday. 10 became the ideal count because it was my theory they design it so that the player wins sometimes. i did not lose as much when i bought consecutive cards because in general I recouped some of the money back. i once won $400 from a scratcher that way, but not since. i have to admit it was addictive
 
I'll try to remember to grab a ticket if I'm at a store this afternoon.

The odds are atrocious and not worth the price of a ticket (IMO).

I'll gladly pay a couple bucks to pretend, for a few hours, that I'd be able to enjoy doing anything I want instead of working towards that end.

I'm in. It's gambling and I like to gamble. If I can throw $100 down on a blackjack table, I can throw in a few bucks for some lotto tix every once in a while.

and +1...it's more about the dreaming than it is thinking that it'll be a reality. that's worth a few bucks right there.

Nah, fuck it, good for the crazy hobo. He would probably be dead from it within 3 months and most of it would get reclaimed by the state since his affairs wouldn't be in order.

I'm not a hater, good for anybody that wins. Like I said, I don'[t play much, but when shit is off the charts, I like to be a part of it. It's a 2 point goof for me, help some random schmuck get crazy rich, and help pay for public schools. Not bad points on a laugh.

^ Seriously the high brown lotto shitting gets old. Almost everyone knows its a pipe dream and nothing more than a cheap day dream. For casual players it is just like every other entertainment dollar you spend. On the plus side some of the cash gets put to good use. If you are not missing your car payment because you went nuts on lotto tickets its no biggie.

WFIW, I have had crazy older relatives who did go apeshit with lotto tickets and had to be reigned in by other family members. I'm not ignorant of how the lotto can be abused. I still think it's not such a bad deal.
