Metcalf, Our County Park and the New Motorcross Track

Hollister has death jumps? Thought they tamed it ages ago when they turned everything into tables?

So how is the track? Is it loaded with death jumps like Hollister, mellower like Carnegie or even more mellow?

I peeked at the track today. I think it is gonna be big fun for both the riders and spectators.

Big fun, some big air too. Though, the jumps seem to be engineered such that you get distance but not a lot of height.

We will get to ride it soon.

It's been tamed down from years back but they still have one hell of a kicker, it's a long way down and pretty narrow. No run off either

Rumour is the track will open Monday November 4...

Went up to water the track today but they have no power hence no water...

the track is almost ready except...

per Ryan : Please come out from today till tomorrow. Water all track features meaning Jumps landings rollers and even side skits of these. DO NOT WASTE TIME WATERING TURNS…Please water the side skirts of the turns if you like. If we get more help there is a very very high chance of us opening for Sunday Funday!

Watered track for several hours yesterday with the other usual volunteers...
They let us ride the track before it officially opens.
Its awesome but still needs some more water put down so please
come out and grab a hose if you can.
Track should be open to the public today..

Rode it today for 90 minutes.
Wow. Very cool. Some hero dirt.

Well, this thread is not very up to date.

So they opened the track for a few weeks and then closed it after it was seeded for groundcover. Then we waited for that to take root. Then we waited for it to be groomed. That is done.

They changed the configuration of the “six pack”, which was some big air if you were on it, to table tops.

Apparently folks were going off track and around the jumps because they were skeeered. Rangers don’t want that, for a variety of reasons.

Track is supposed to be open for next weekend.

As a rider who often gets "skeered" I'd like to see track designers use split jumps. Have a big tabletop split with a double or triple built on the same mound. That way , us sissies can gauge our flight, then when we see we can clear the other jump, we just move over and start doing heel clickers and whatnot.
