Mid-Engine Corvette spy shots

is that the 205hp 1984 Vette?

I am pretty sure that thing would get its ass beat by a John Deere riding mower.

Well this Grand National just sort of got away from me officer.

Do you have any idea of how fast you were going?

I'm gonna say 65 tops.

7...7 miles per hour. and usually when I pull people people over, they pull over in the shoulder.

Just pointing out it was quick, for its time... Didn't say it handled.

... And in spite of what you say, it was pretty unique, and now rather collectible.

:dunno

Yeah, I seem to remember a lot of write ups on it....

IIRC ... it had merits even for a boutique type of manufacturing. The $500K price tag wasn't a concern for the target clientele. But as in many things, you can't sit on your laurels for too long. It would've been great to see more exotics out there.

I know everyone bags on the C4 Vette, but once they got past the Cross Port FI engine or whatever the hell it was called, (carry over from the C3, went away in '85, I think) it was by far the performance bargain of its day. Maybe didn't beat everything in a straight line, but for overall track performance, it was difficult to beat.
