Missing a bike? I might have found a few

I just realized 3 of the bikes in the parking garage by my work (downtown San Rafael) haven't moved in at least a week, maybe longer. This is prime riding weather, so I'm wondering if they were stolen and dumped...

-blue 1975 cb750
-green 2006 speed triple 1050
-black beat to shit scooter, no name I can see

If these sound familiar, let me know and I'll go get a better look. If they're yours and that's just where you park them, let me know that too! If they're still there next week I'll probably end up reporting them.

There is also a 2002 GSX-R600 that showed up in my neighborhood yesterday. Stunted and rattle-canned. Not sure its stolen, just parked in an odd out-of-the way spot. Ignition wasn't punched when I looked.

Unless the ignitions are punched or otherwise tampered with, I'd probably leave it alone. 1 week isn't much time.

Right, but kinda weird that they're in a public parking garage in a commercial district, covered in cobwebs. Not a red flag, maybe just dark yellow.

i park next to those three or four bikes all the time

i always wondered wtf was wrong with that green triumph rider must be scared to ride

these bikes have been there for 2 months straight atleast

Have you talked with the people at the garage? There's a dusty Nighthawk like that in my garage and the owner pays to store it there, way in the back, chained to a large pipe. Totally legit.

Yeah, waiting to commit that crime on the bike that never could be traced to work or home!!!! (I admit, too much tv)

haha I like it def not the worst idea I have ever heard

Just looking at them in the photo, I think people are paying for the parking places and simply not riding them. It's a shame, but there can be lots of reasons.

I don't think they're stolen because they are parked well and not trashed.

I would contact the garage, then the police.

It's an hourly garage owned/operated by the city. No monthly parking available, and contacting is basically just contacting the police. The "guards" on their segways aren't going to do anything.
They're not trashed (except the scooter), but clearly not moving. Cobwebs between handlebars/tank, growing oil spot under the honda, peace sign drawn in the dust of the Triumph.
I'll call San Rafael PD I guess. Thanks everyone.

A few folks may have figured out how to score free storage for their bikes, I wouldn't go making waves at the garage. If your really worried check with the PD, but who would steal a bike and then park it nicely in a paid garage where anyone can check on it? Thief is either going to part it out or ditch it on the side of the road.

Of course, now that you have told us all where a few nice bikes that no one would miss for a while are sitting...
