This Yugo will kick the crap out of an Evo or an STi. Or even an Evo and STi taped together!

worst question ever.

what exactly do you want to know? Are you thinking of buying either? I think most of these discussions come down to Evo 8 for straightline racing and looking cool, STi wins in everything else...this is, of course, after you eliminate the limitless number of variables...GSXR600 or R6?

whoops, car and driver says the opposite...who knows...

i like my wrx :confused

i like the subaru better, and i like the boxer sound, i think its better as a rally car

but on the tarmac, i gotta admit, the evo is faster and has more potential for ass-whooping power

Dude for that much money, you don't get leather seats or upholstery. That's absurd.

The thing I like about ///M cars is that they are actually nice. If I wanted to own something that was really fast but skimped everywhere else on build quality and interior, it would be a WRX.

It's too damn expensive to get into racing cars on a track. Bikes are expensive enough and a car is at least twice as much. I see no reason to fuck up my car by thrashing it on some race track just so I can say that I am a more skilled driver. If my car goes fast straight and has great handling and suspension available for me if I ever need it then thats enough for me. I can't see flushing $65K down the toilet just to learn the limits of my car, I'll leave that for those people who don't mind blowing that kind of cash on a hobby.

Keep traction control on or switch your competition mode and your ass will be safe enough on the track.

Once you do it, you'll probably have a lot more fun. I plan to take my next year or later this year.

The school-day is the way to go if you're worried - there are instructors in all the 'newbie' groups, in every car. They don't let you get anywhere near each other or beyond your limits. Very non-intimidating, highly recommended. You go about 50% faster at the end of the day and feel 50% more in control.

Hyundai tiburon.

Seeing that I've stuffed both the above cars at the track, the tiburon must be superior..

Right?

Not that the driver has anything to do with it..

The lesson here is.

Learn to DRIVE your car, before you even try to buy something that every loser out there is clamoring for.

Give me an Evo or an STi and I'll hand a canfull of asswupping to anyone.
Give and Evo or an STi to most idiot drivers and I'll stuff their asses whilst driving a yugo.

LEARN to drive...don't expect the car to compensate for your shitting driving ability.

I'm all for learning how to drive a car skillfully but that doesn't mean I can't own a car just for bling factor. Uh, don't people do that with bikes? I think most people do...

I think it is more practical to have the above mentality with a bike as it is pretty imperative to have some skills to ride a bike. A car...well, who cares? It's just a mode of transportation. I wouldn't mind owning a Ferrari and not knowing how to drive it for shit...at least I'd look good.

I don't like Subarus....don't know why. Maybe it was that commercial (was it Subaru Joe?) in the 80's.

No that commercial was for Isuzu, it was Joe Isuzu.

Safe, fun - you know you'd have a blast. Just cos I nuked the only Corvette in my group in the corners :shhh

Seriously tho, I felt far more at risk once the day ended and I had to drive home. No spins, no crashes, not a single wheel off-track (well, one guy went 6" off line over the inside of 5A)

October 2nd - I'm booked. :) It'll be a blast! Oh yeah, paging Sumi!

I like the Subaru just because they've kicked ass for so long in WRC. But really, there ain't much in it on the street.

Well you see Ian, I know how I am and I know what kind of luck I have. I know that if I had my car out on the track I'd be thrashing it and then what would I have at the end of the day? I'd have a car with 9K on the odometer but 90K worth of wear on the drivetrain. I would be all for a little car for track use but I don't have room for that and besides, my next toy is going to be a ski boat, so I am saving money for that. BTW the Corvette is kicking ass in Europe in I think the Le Mans series. Not sure how it does on local tracks but with street tires I think they are pulling 0.99g's of latteral acceleration. My only real complaint is that the shifter sucks but that is an easy fix. If I wanted more performance I could get a 6lbs boost supercharger which will bring up my rwhp to 560 and not affect streetability or reliability. But I'll think about that when my waranty is up. :)

The fit and finish on the Vette is not all that great either. I hear ya on the M series. Was a tough choice.
