Modern Warfare II, in-game footage

Infinity Ward basically took a huge shit on the PC gamer community.
This sucks bad because no doubt other devs will follow suit, I guess so they can reduce headcount. This is a huge change.

Notable answers on answers to questions raised include:

* there is no console command menu to tweak settings;
* confirmation that there will be no modding;
* confirmation that there will be no dedicated servers whatsoever;
* the ability to lean has been removed;
* there is no function to record matches;
* the largest matches will be limited to 9 v 9 players;
* IW.net will determine who should be the host player.

When directly asked if MW2 on PC was simply a port of the console version, Mackey responded "No, PC has custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings".

I think I am going to cancel my Pre-Order for the PC Version.

This blows

yea thats pretty much the console version. i could care less since i'll be playing it on a console, but it is odd they are doing all that. maybe have a 'matchmaking' section thats basically playing the console version, then a dedicated servers section.

There is no maybe, that is what they said and sticking to it. FU IW :thumbdown

this now gives me the reason to get a ps3 now, not to mention about blue ray. give me 2 weeks of training once i get this game, and I'll smash all ya suckas. add me.

Why? this change doesn't affect consoles and something they are already limited to, but it is a drastic limiting/butchering of the PC version.

its just another mere anecdote as a furnace to fuel my tendency to increase my desire of the ps3

:laughing Keep it up then.

or

buy a new blue-ray drive for $50-$60 online for your PC (yea it is that cheap). and usually it comes with a free software player (usually powerdvd 8).
Only real work is to install the drive (easy) and to update the blue-ray drives firmware from mfg site (if you want no issues playing the latest blue-rays) and patches for software player.
If you are like me, who combines all his entertainment (games,movies,tv,surfing,chatting,streaming)/productivity in one machine (PC) connected to a nice lcd/plasma/dlp as your main screen then it is a must get hardware.

No need to get the ps3 unless you are looking to play exclusive games available only to consoles or the ps3.

no reason to get a PC since the consoles get the same MW2 that you get :p

Even though I am not getting this game, the PC version will still trump over a console just because of the sheer fact it has better graphics/controls, plus it is more difficult and requires more skill since everyone has more quicker precision aiming. :laughing

Almost time!! Amazon has a guarantee delivery on the 10th. So I should be taking a little time off :teeth

Need help with a decision. I currently have a 360 but don't have a wireless adapter to play online or a Live account yet. Thinking about getting it when I pick up my copy of MW2, but realizing it's going to cost $70 for the adapter and $40 for the account, give or take (plus cost of the game obviously). Would you go ahead with this decision or elect to pick up a PS3 instead? Keep in mind I don't currently have a blu-ray player so this would be another incentive for me to get the PS3. Bottom line, is there a benefit of playing online w/ 360 vs playing online w/ PS3? I do like the controller better on the 360 but it's not a deal breaker.

Buy a Blu-ray player instead of the PS3 for hundreds of dollars less and use the money to buy a 50 foot cable, instead of wireless, so you have faster, more responsive internet while playing the 360 online. The PS3 has less players and thus the game's online multiplayer community will not last as long.

yea just get a wired setup, the wireless adaptors for xbox are a huge ripoff. and an xbox live gold account doesnt have to be much, if you just want to try it out its only like $7/month

I got it today for XBOX 360. Played it for 15 mins.
