My Ray Ban Liteforces have the best tint for riding I could imagine. Bright sun to tunnel, hard sunlight dappled by trees, etc. no problem. They are getting pitted to shit from riding tho, and I'll gladly pay the $250 for another pair for day to day use, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of sunglasses in the $70 to $100 range that can work that same magic. I have a girlish fear of unexpected gravel or water, even if I done that road 100 times..shit happens, right? I want to be able to see the road, and take nothing for granted. I know one of you wags will say Just ride with your eyes closed, but other than that...suggestions?:teeth:ride

How about a full face with a dark shield or internal visor like most people? I'm assuming you have an open face?

I'm 58. My eyes don't work so good anymore, and I got broken bones that didn't heal right from highsides and sliding out on wet pavement.
I want to see where the fuck I'm going really clearly.

Go to some one that is familiar with your problems, I have a lot of scar tissue and it has caused me great problems with regular shades.
Many years ago I would some shades called Tropicana out of Florida they were red and worked GREAT but have not found them in years, but if you look at the shades that are designed for migraines they seem to work for me, I can see the road surface and if it's wet or dry etc.

Hell you are still young, I bet you still see a nice rack from a 100'yards. :rofl
Seriously, looking for the same type of shades myself.

Oakley anything basically. Most of them are good in that they cover your eyes and surrounding area completely with a nice seal to ensure debris doesn't get in there.

Hit up a local Oakley store at a mall and test fit to your desire. They have lots of tints variations for various conditions including lots of flavors of polarized tints.

You can get wrap-around safety glasses, clear or with various tints, from walmart for about 5 bucks. They scratch easily but then you just replace them.

Now it makes more sense, however, you can still use a helmet with a visor and wear glasses underneath?

dont be cheap

Maui Jim, their optical clarity is fantastic.

And I prefer glass over plastic, for best possible clarity.

Bolle makes great interchangeable lense sport glass with great optics. Great coverage too. Even have a snap in insert available that can be ground to your prescription.

I've been wearing prescription glasses with fullface helmets for 40 plus years. No problem. If you really like your RayBans, spring for the extra dough and get another pair.

+1 polarized and the grey lenses is very dark, intended for marine sports.

I do wear Joakley sweeps usually with my tinted moto visor (visor isn't dark enough for me).

I've been thinking that...a disposable item for peak perfomance, like tires.

kuksools glass photo greys might be good, too. non polarized $149, so no "rainbow'' effect when I put the visor down on the freeway..my only complaint about the 'Bans.

my arai helmet had gnarly glare/rainbow with polarized shades, and my bell has none. depends a lot on your shield.

Polycarbonate for many different sunglasses I have used, tint n style whatever works for you, don't ride with glass for obvious reasons and put your visor down more often. Worked for me for years...

Do you tape a sun visor line on your tinted or clear shield with tape?
