MotoAmerica 2019-2020 off season discussion/rant thread

There is a thread on the WERA BBS discussing the possibility that Jake Lewis (and/or someone else) will attempt to race both the Daytona 200 AND the AFT Daytona TT next month. The catch: both races are on the same day. Lewis would be one of a handful of people capable of winning both the 200 and the AFT Singles TT race. Haven't seen any official announcements yet but this is a pretty cool stunt if it happens.

Nothing yet but I'm watching it unfold. I want to see Herrins announcement, my "insiders" say he will be with the Schibe BMW.

mild-mannered Steve & still-maturing Josh - what a pairing
Schiebe himself told me that they had zero 2019 support from BMW

Yup, Josh Herrin will be piloting a Scheibe Racing BMW. I / we can only hope the team and bike will be a solid and consistent contender to the Yamaha and GSXR, getting on the box. Go Josh!

Hoping the team delivers.
If Josh has the right equipment he will.

I've gotten quite the education in the last few months with a working relationship (Industry) that's been excellent for my knowledge. Needless to say; there's just no way a non factory team/ support has the resources to win day in/ day out as the factory supported efforts.

Well, under the circumstances (lack of available Factory Teams and seats), I can understand Josh signing with the BMW team. I / we can only hope that he gets the support (behind the scenes) he needs to continue being a top contender, rather than "following the leader of the pack".

OTOH, how much support was Josh getting when he was with Attack, while Graves was the supported factory team, during that tenure?

Regardless, happy to see him get a ride, and look forward to seeing him battle, in typical Herrin fashion.

support == money. I havent heard of any story in this current era of racing where a factory doesnt provide parts or information to privateer teams if they can pay for it. the regs practically force the factories to make all that available after all. if Herrin has brought more $$ to Scheibe, hopefully they can use it to vastly improve their program.

Support does not = money. The top teams are operating at a level where they won't put others in a position to challenge them. They operate for the betterment of their team and nothing more...to their credit.

to clarify, I meant factory support. there are no true factory teams in MA, so this means support from an entity outside the paddock. this applies directly to Scheibe.

Graves used to gladly lease/sell things to SS teams. of course this allowed them to make sure the leased/sold product was "slower" than what they were using. but thats all rumors and it may not have mattered anyway. they had the best kit, best riders, and best crew, so im leaning towards "it didnt matter"

Probably doesn't matter since it was Attack Performance. Stanboli makes whatever he needs and he can outbuild or outwork anybody so the lack of any parts or information from Graves was not likely to be a hindrance.

Oh, yeah, yah...sorry, got it. Agree Robert.

so Fly Racing ADR Motorsport is entering 1 each Kaw, Suz & Yam? :wow

Danilo...nice guy. Rode with him at Thill the end of last season...had no idea who he was, but his lines and riding told me was a pro from somewhere. Pretty much, at a trackday anyone who can ride our pace is almost always known. I've got some video somewhere...will be cool to see how he stacks up.

I recently changed the credit card I use for some of streaming subscriptions. MotoAmerica's Live+ attempted to renew my account yesterday but was unable to do so because that card number no longer exists. It would have been nice to get some advance notice as I had not set up my account for auto renew and received no notice of the pricing for the MotoAmerica Live+ streaming package for 2020.

The real eye opener is that MotoAmerica's streaming is now exclusively dedicated to horses and equestrian events. See the text of the email below:

No shit. This is really what they sent. :laughing

I did like the availability of on demand viewing last season even if the productions were often mistake ridden and amateurish. Not super happy about paying $75 this year if they haven't stepped it up. This message doesn't give me much confidence. I contacted info@MotoAmerica.com and MotoA Live+ support about their fucked up email and even included a snarky comment about Cam Beaubier riding a Monster Energy Attack Performance Appaloosa.

I better check my CC... I wonder if it auto renewed.

Looking forward to seeing Bobby on that fricking M4 Suzuki stallion. :party

I guess if AFT has success racing motorcycles on horse tracks, MA is going to try horses on road racing tracks.
