Motorcycle Day in Livermore: Come Recreate History, Sat 9/24/11

Small threadjack...

I saw the antique Harley (Rich's 4th pic, on the left. Color: mostly rust... err.. aged patina) on it's way home later in the day. Unfortunately, he had a flat tire (all fixed, and then on his way). I only mention this because of where the tire fix was happening: ~1/2 mile from the summit of Mt. Hamilton :hail

Not his first time there. he might have been on his way back from Florida or Vermont as well..... a link to slideshow from City Bike day at the junction. Apparently here, here, and here too.

Not that it is possible to leave the county without at least 600cc's. I've heard sometimes they have checkpoints at some county lines to make sure you don' try to leave without enough horsepower.

I was lookin for you, ritch. kind of expected you to be there, but didn't see you at all.

For anyone wondering about the photos, I just got this email:

First of all, thanks for making this happen. I really appreciate it.

Stay tuned to our website, www.trivalleymoto.com and I’ll be posting info for the old and the new photos. I want copies too, and I understand that the photos taken on Saturday turned out really good.

Thanks again for the support.

So, I guess we just wait.

Does anyone have a clue of what is going on with the panorama pictures taken by the pro. I know it doesn't take this long to do them. It only takes me 5min to stitch a panorama together...

No idea man, I just gave up, the photographer's website said to go to trivalleymoto.com and the guy I emailed said to go there too, been going there for the past few weeks, nothing.

I attended the 2011 event and have one of the few 8"x48" pano-fotos taken that day. Was riding my Buell 1125R, it was parked over on the right about 3 bikes back from the stoplight. Just an FYI, the 115th will be in 2026. I've spoken with Mike M. (Cal Moto) a couple of times in the past 6 months about hosting another one for the 115th Anniversary.
Maybe with a little help from BARFERs, OMC, SFMC, etc. this  event could happen again. :teeth:flag

I'm about eight people away from where you're standing, close to the right edge of your clipped image above. :)
