David Lindley played twice a year up here in Northern Humboldt for 3 decades. One of the best bands on the planet to dance to, hang with friends or just sit back and listen to.

my dude can’t dance for shit - except the waltz. first time i knew, a small fado club in coimbra. he put his hand on my waist, took my hand and spun me out onto the dance floor. fast music and fast waltz. i could barely keep up. the second time, slower. vienna. it was midnight. he put one earbud in my ear and one in his. played strauss. music only the two of us could hear. put his hand on my waist, took my hand and we danced through the narrow, cobblestone streets to the curious stares of people at the outdoor cafes.

the music from coimbra…. an awesome memory. my head was spinning as fast as my body. love that man.

I still have the original album with the giant fold-out poster of all the ladies on bicycles. Come to think of it, I'm surprised my teenage boys did not abscond with that poster years ago.

I was telling one of my kids that it was physically impossible for an ad to play between songs on any of the records I own, and they asked "and you only have to pay for it once?" and you could see how strange that seemed. You cannot overstate how many basic rules of media consumption have changed.

You know what?? Sometimes people make my world pretty special.

The dude that did these just did that. He wrote a song for the film project.
The project took a huge hit from the Political environment, but will be back on track soon and I am going to use his song for sure. Super cool when a stranger does something kind out of the blue.
