MV Agusta F3 (600 Sportbike)

I dunno, this design hasn't really strayed far from the original f4 750 imo. Neither has the newest iteration of the F4 from it's original design. Nothing ground breaking for an entirely new model and it essentially just looks like an f4 for the most part. I personally think that the MV superbikes design has gotten a little long in the tooth. Yes, it's a beautiful bike and they hit the mark with the original design but have not strayed very far from one interation to the next. And really, i don't think it's that far superior aesthetically from an RSV4 or 1198 as you make it out to be. All three bikes are pretty easy on the eyes for sure.

Now this isn't to say that I don't want one in a bad way. In fact this may be my next bike depending on the specs.

apriia and ducati take note, THIS is how you make a sexy fucking bike. it amazes me that MV can hit the mark every time. design wise, they utterly destroy. ive always wanted a F4 750 myself

Performance wise though it may arguably be better than the two superbikes you mention.

Compared to liter bikes of the past this thing has a huge amount of HP. As the superbikes get faster and faster, the power becomes less of a benefit to the "average" track rider. It's just too much power to control.

This bike gives you great power, insane flick-ability (from the technology built into it and the other stats one can only assume) and TC.

I'd take it over an RSV4 or 1198 any day of the week, even if it just had GSX-R plastics.

I'm not even going to make comparisons of a middleweight bike to a liter bike as far as performance goes. Also not going to make any speculative comments on performance on a bike that hasn't been ridden or released with very little numbers published. My only comment was on the design/looks of the bike.

And I think Huge HP is a relative term. Having owned an 848 with 134HP, I was still left wanting more. Not because I'm able to use all the power but b/c of that tingly feeling you get when you roll on the throttle of a 170+HP bike. Too much power? Not with TC it isn't. If I bought into the idea that you shouldn't buy a liter bike b/c it has too much power and I can't utililize all of it I'd just stick to my 55HP Thumper.

It is a gorgeous gorgeous bike.

Anyone who buys one has to expect LONG gas stops due to gawkers.

Stole this from Toby Moody's Twitpic:

Fuck man. There is no other middleweight touching this bike in aesthetics. None before, and none until MV redesigns it, which won't be for another decade or so knowing MV Agusta.

Dammit MV. Please, please, please price it reasonably! :(

Speaking of the 1198...less "busy" aesthetically. That gold colored piece of frame on the F3 is really bothering me.

BTW, of all the models in Milan, they had to get one with a weird face? Guess it fits.

rean1mator,

Have you ever ridden the new V-Max? If not, you owe it to yourself. Enough handling for the average street rider, and more power than anyone could possibly hope to use.

you know that is about one of the only cruisers i'd ever consider apart from the diavel. actually there's that small shop out of like south carolina or something that makes some pretty cool cruisers too, can't remember the name. but i'd lean more towards one of the streetfighters over a cruiser anyday.

It really only looks like a cruiser. The ergonomics are much more naked standard, than anything else.

+1

its more like a standard that is always trying to kill you. good times! :thumbup

The VMax doesn't even look like a cruiser...not the new ones. It looks like Barry Bonds made a standard.

finally

THE most beautiful middleweight ever made

with TC

and the counter rotating crank will be a sweet addition

this may end up THE best handling sport bike on the planet

I WILL buy this bike

I don't get what's so bad about a bike that looks "Transformer-ish"? Is that supposed to be be a bad thing? I consider that a compliment..

I just bought a 2010 Z1000, possibly the most transformer-ish of transformer type bikes, so I'm clearly biased - but I think that sort of look is awesome! Sportbikes and sportcars in general are all about the edgy futuristic lines and that distinctly angular, robotic, "transformer" look is just one (fresh) variation on the theme..

Anyhow I'll agree with the others here that new MV Augusta F3 is super fuckin sick looking!!! Definitely the best looking middleweight bike I've seen..

that kawi 1000 looks transformer. really bad look.

the MV looks ITALIAN. night and day difference. front end is identical to the F4 which is as far from transformer as you can get.
