Aprilia's have an onboard computer that records the top speed, avg speed, etc. and it will keep it recorded as long as the battery isn't disconnected or the dash resets due to low battery. With a simple press of the button, the rider can access the info at any time.

As for the speed, I've tried different gearing and have never been able break 162 and I've got an open air box with aftermarket pipes and chip. I see you posted the pic in the Apriliaforum, I'm sure guys there will chime in.

But, here's one for you.

All ZX14 and Busa owners should now go trade in their bikes for an Aprilia. :p

And to anyone else thinking of duplicating this... that highway is open range with cattle milling about the road. On my trip thru there, I came across two cars with the front ends crushed, and the windshields clearly showing where the heads impacted them from the inside.

I went through that area last month but I was touring alone and carrying alot of weight so I wasn't too tempted to set any "personal speed records."

I want to repeat that being in an isolated area away from police also entails being far from medical facilities in the event of a mishap.

I don't know the accuracy of the calculation, but the Gearing Commander website says a 2004 Mille with a 17/38 sprocket combo is capable of 190 mph at 10,000 rpm. Just trying to figure out how you got another 20 mph out of your bike at 9,500 rpm.

i have had a mille r tapped out and it was nowhere near 210 (sorry rgame but you had to find out sometime)

fast bikes speed test of an 08 busa with; gearing, slip on and a 150 pound rider just got over 200....

on a side note i have driven that road and it is fuuunnnnnn :teeth

Think about it guys, most MotoGP bikes only hit 200+mph on rare occasions. The only way he's breaking 200 is with aero work done on the bike.

That area is known especially well for the tall tales of mysterious objects traveling at speed well beyond man's understanding.

Dood, that speed indicates "lower intelligence", and could have gotten you noticed and raped by Aliens. :shocker

Congrats your Aprilia is 35 mph faster than any magazine has ever tested it at. Top speed on your bike is 174 give or take a couple. Perhaps you should take that magical bike to Bonneville. It would set a new top speed record for a production motorcycle. Or perhaps I'll just call :bs:bs:bs:teeth

Ummm, yeah, call me skeptical, but I'm thinking the only place you're gonna see an Aprilia Mille hit 210 mph is in the cargo hold of a jet aircraft.:rofl

That beemer that passed you was me...I was late getting back to Carson City from Vegas.

:laughing

Not doubting you just wondering. I didn't know aprilia's had that feature to save the top speed. Must have been one helluva rush. :thumbup

The Ducati also has that feature where you can save V-Max, lap times and such. I bet other bikes do also. How about a Busa or RC51? Any other brand owner want to weigh in on here?

Only if it had the Hp to pull 10,000 with that gearing, which it does not... Again that bike would be lucky to see an HONEST 170, Period...:thumbdown
